MARY LOUISE BARTLETT

TAMPA, Fla. Mary Louise Bartlett died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at St. Joseph Hospital in Tampa. She was 84.

Mrs. Bartlett was born in Weston, W.V., she lived in Vicksburg from 1970 until 1973. She was employed with John’s Grocery. She was a member of the Methodist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl Knotts and Kenneth Bartlett; and a daughter, Carolyn Raines.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Bartlett of Russelville, Tenn.; her daughter, Cassandra Fretto of Tampa; 10 grandchildren, including Sharon Marshall, Barbara May and Tim Raines, all of Vicksburg; 13 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Bobby Raines of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Antioch Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. Saturday until the service.

Pallbearers will be Harold Cogan, Ronnie Frith, Eddie Frith, John Mauck, Doug Hasty and Marty May.

BRUCE C. LAZARUS

Private services for Bruce C. Lazarus will be today

Mr. Lazarus died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Jackson. He was 89.

Born in Natchez, he was the son of the late Orsie Ladd and Mamie B. Stier Lazarus. He had lived in Vicksburg most of his life. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He retired from Marathon-LeTourneau after 37 years of service. He was a member of the VFW and the Methodist faith.

He is survived by a sister, Ruth Griffin of Vicksburg; nieces; and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Keith Paxton, Scott Paxton, Jake Parsons, Randy Hale, Ralph Hale, Francis Hale and Justus Griffin.

KASIA KARYNESA-DINAE THOMAS

Kasia Karynesa-Dinae Thomas, infant daughter of Dellie Thomas and Lakisa D. Thompson, both of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at her home.

In addition to her parents, Kasia is survived by two sisters, Kelisha Thompson and Kiera Thomas, both of Vicksburg; her maternal grandmother, Beverly Thompson of Vicksburg; her paternal grandmother, Rena Alam of Vicksburg; her maternal great-grandmother, Mae June Burnett of Fayette; and her paternal great-grandmother, Helen Lee Thomas of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Joseph Brisco officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. Saturday until the service at the funeral home.

OLA MAE WILLIAMS

Services for Ola Mae Williams will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Zion M.B. Church No. 1. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Williams died Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 83.

She was a member of Mount Zion M.B. Church No. 1, where she served on the Mother Board.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hardie and Mary Lenson Thrasher; three brothers, Qullie Williams, Jack Williams and Wyman Williams; three sisters, Ollie Mae Thrasher, Willie Mae Thrasher and Ruby McBain.

Survivors include six sons, R.B. Williams of Vicksburg, the Rev. James E. Williams of Seaford, Del., L.J. Williams of Tampa, Fla., Johnnie L. Williams of Holyoke, Mass., Hardie Lee Williams of Clinton, N.C., and Bennie C. Williams of Del Ray Beach, Fla.; four daughters, Evangelist Geneva Jones and Martha Lewis, both of Vicksburg, Evangelist Mary O. McSwain of Portland, Ore., and Maxine Jones of New Orleans; two brothers, Russell Thrasher of Hazlehurst and H.J. Thrasher of Brookhaven; a sister, Alice Brown of McComb; nieces; nephews; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and other relatives.
