WILLARD CORNELL TANNEHILL

TALLULAH Willard Cornell Tannehill died Thursday, Feb. 7, 2002, at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. He was 73.

Mr. Tannehill was born in Delhi, La., and lived in Tallulah for 16 years before moving to Texas. He worked as a carpenter and a truck driver. He was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by two sons, Cornell Tannehill of Alvarado, Texas, and Clint Tannehill of Overton, Texas; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Silver Cross Cemetery with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating and Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

CLARA WINSTON

Services for Clara Winston will be at noon Tuesday at Mount Calvary M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be at Williams Funeral Service from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Winston died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at ParkView Regional Medical Center. She was 88.

She was a native of Vicksburg and a homemaker. She was a member of Mount Calvary M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Winston; and her parents, George Mace and Esther Mace.

She is survived by one daughter; Lynette W. O’Neal of Edwards; three brothers, Huey Mace Sr. of Vicksburg, Roscoe Mace of Stone Mountain, Ga., and Robert Mace of Chicago; four sisters, Queen Esther Jackson of Edwards, Mynetta Smith of Jackson, Allein Moore of Oakland, Calif., and Ethel Mace of Indianapolis; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.

ROBERT E. MARTIN SR.

Robert E “Bob” Martin Sr. died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, at St. Dominic’s Hospital in Jackson. He was 76.

Mr. Martin was born in Yazoo County and lived in Vicksburg where he worked as a millwright with Local 303 until retirement. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Goodrum Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jo Martin of Vicksburg; two sons, Robert Martin Jr. and James L. Martin, both of Vicksburg; one daughter, Glenda Burris of Vicksburg; two brothers, Hall Martin and J.C. Martin, both of Redwood; one sister, Hattie Stratton of Vicksburg; and eight grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam Dunaway officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home from 2 until 5 this afternoon.

Pallbearers will be Larry Martin, Edward McKnight III, Richard Greer, Michael Wamble, James Tedder and Mitchell Martin Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Carpenters and Millwright Local 303.
