MARION BROWNLEE ROBERTSON

Marion Brownlee “Ducky” Robertson died Friday, March 8, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Robertson was born in Calhoun, La., and lived in Vicksburg for 55 years. She was a retired secretary for the Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church, where she was an active member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Bass Club of the church.

Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Robertson.

She is survived by one sister, Grace Balcom, of Baton Rouge; three daughters, Sharon Terrell of Kingwood, Texas, Marcie Wallace of Yazoo City and Donna Garrett of Ovilla, Texas; and five grandchildren, Valerie Brookby of Fort Worth, Texas, Shannon Atchenson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Bill Terrell of Kingwood and Anthony Garrett and Andrew Garrett, both of Ovilla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg with the Rev. Terry White and the Rev. Paul Lee officiating.

Visitation will at the funeral home from 3 until 5 p.m. today.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cooper, Tim Atchenson, Bill Terrell, Jay Kent, John Brookby and Richard Smithart.

WILLIE RUTH REED WALLS

Willie Ruth Reed Walls died Thursday, March 7, 2002. She was 61.

Mrs. Reed was born in Port Gibson and also lived in Jackson. She was a graduate of Addison High School in Port Gibson. She worked as a cook for the Old Southern Tea Room in Vicksburg, the Jackson school system and Hinds General Hospital and as a domestic worker for several families in the Jackson area.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Ward Reed and Will Reed; her husband, Alex Walls Sr.; one daughter, Earlene Reed; five brothers, Percy Reed, the Rev. James Reed, Walter Reed, Andrew Reed Sr. and Willis Reed; and one sister, Lula M. Reed.

Mrs. Reed is survived by one brother, Earnest Reed of Gulfport; four sisters, Elizabeth Reed and Pat R. Wilson, both of Vicksburg, Mary Lee Reed Walls of Junction City, Kan., and Patsy Jean Reed Duffin of Aurora, Ill.; two sons, Alex Walls Jr. and Malcolm L. Reed, both of Jackson; and one granddaughter, Supreme Reed of Jackson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Westhaven Memorial Funeral Home in Jackson with the Rev. Mervyn E. Hammond Jr., pastor of Faith Covenant Christian Center in Junction City, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Lawn Cemetery in Jackson.
