DONALD WAYNE BOBO

LORMAN Donald Wayne Bobo died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 51.

A lifelong resident of Lorman, Mr. Bobo was a farmer. He worked for a surveying company for a number of years and was employed by Brady Farms. He attended Red Lick Baptist Church.

He is survived by two sisters, Ramona Emfinger of Port Gibson and Sherry Strittman of Lorman; aunts; uncles; cousins; nieces; and a nephew.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson. Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

LILLIE MAE CARPENTER

Lillie Mae Carpenter died today, March 11, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Born in Warren County, Mrs. Carpenter was a homemaker and member of King David M.B. Church No. 2.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Shelby Palmer Sr. and Lena Wilson Palmer; a son, Robert Carpenter Jr.; a daughter, Judy Braxton; four brothers, Ellis Palmer, Shelby Palmer Jr., John Palmer and Cleveland Palmer; and three sisters, Ora Palmer, Senolah Huell and Martha Davis.

Survivors include two sons, James Carpenter and Larry Carpenter, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Willie Drayton and Louise Carpenter, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Elena Liggins of Vicksburg and Olivia Palmer of New Orleans; nieces; nephews; grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and cousins.

LELAND L. FERGUSON

TYLER, TEXAS Leland L. Ferguson died Saturday, March 9, 2002, at Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler, Texas. He was 90.

Born in Durant, Mr. Ferguson was reared in Hickory. He was a former resident of Vicksburg. He was employed with the Corps of Engineers in Durant and Tutwiler before moving to Vicksburg where he was employed with the Corps for 46 years. He moved to Memphis in 1987 and lived there until moving to Tyler in 1999. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he was an elder.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Bessie A. Ferguson.

He is survived by two sons, Leland E. Ferguson of Tyler and John D. Ferguson of Nashville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. Edwin Earl Bailey officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Tuesday until the service at the funeral home.

GEORGE ANNA KING

George Anna King died Sunday, March 10, 2002, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 87.

A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. King attended Carr Central High School. She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel King Sr.; her parents, George S. and Lucy B. Paxton Kelley; and two brothers.

She is survived by a son, Sam King Jr. of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Angela K. Fletcher and Dean Sharpe, both of Vicksburg, and Janice K. Harrison of Nederland, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Carrico, Alvin Barrett, Frank Williams, Edwin Harris, Paul Alderman and Elsworth Kent.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Harrison, Dean Sharpe and Scot Fletcher.

MARION BROWNLEE ROBERTSON

Services for Marion Brownlee “Ducky” Robertson were today at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Terry White and Paul Lee officiating. Burial was at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Mrs. Robertson died Friday, March 8, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Robertson was born in Calhoun, La., and lived in Vicksburg for 55 years. She was a retired secretary for the Bowmar Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Dorcus Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Bass Club of the church.

Mrs. Robertson was preceded in death by her husband, L.D. Robertson.

She is survived by three daughters, Sharon Terrell of Kingwood, Texas, Marcia Wallace of Yazoo City and Donna Garrett of Ovilla, Texas; one sister, Grace Balcom of Baton Rouge; five grandchildren, Valerie Brookby of Fort Worth, Texas, Shannon Atchenson of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Bill Terrell of Kingwood and Anthony Garrett and Andrew Garrett, both of Ovilla; and one great-grandchild.
