ELMA BRASWELL ROSWELL

OAK GROVE, La. Elma Braswell Roswell died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove. She was 89.

Mrs. Roswell was preceded in death by her husband, Orice Roswell, and her parents, Edgar Emanuel and Martha Lela Braswell.

She is survived by a brother, C.H. Braswell of Midland, Texas; two sisters, Zelma Auter of Petal and Eunice Verta Yates of Bastrop, La.; nieces, including Marthann Yates of Bastrop; nephews; and friends, including Larry Clark, Shirley Clark and Travis Clark, all of Oak Grove.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Bill Fowler officiating. Burial will follow at Beulah Cemetery in Oak Grove.

ELVIS DAVID SADLER

BASTROP, La. Elvis David “Peck” Sadler died Thursday, March 14, 2002, at his home in Bastrop, La. He was 83.

Mr. Sadler was a native of Oak Grove, La.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Horace and Sarah Flemming Sadler; one brother, Norvin Sadler; two sisters, Agnes Moore and Helen Sanders; and a grandson, Jimmy Don McGowen.

Survivors include his wife, Mamie Hurley Sadler of Bastrop; a son, Donald Sadler of Bastrop; four daughters, Lucille Whetstone of Collingston, La., and Faye Leachman, Mary Bryan and Dianne King, all of Bastrop; three sisters, Kathrine Bancroft of Brandon, Opal Philley of Bastrop and Myrna Poulter of Hot Springs, Ark.; and 17 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Bethel Baptist Church in Bastrop.

Pallbearers will be Paul Bryan, Michael Bryan, Donald Keith Sadler, Scotty Sadler, David Spigner, Damon Spigner, Billy King and Jeffery Fragala.

Honorary pallbearers will be Emmitt Wallace, Travis Wallace and deacons of Bethel Baptist Church.

SHIRLEY MAE WILSON

Services for Shirley Mae Wilson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. R.L. Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Miss Wilson died Tuesday, March 12, 2002. She was 53.

She was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church in the Eagle Lake community. She was born in Vicksburg and later moved to Las Vegas, Nev., and returned to Vicksburg in 1994. She was a graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, David and Cornelious Proctor; her brother, Albert Lee Wilson; and a nephew, Calvin Wilson.

She is survived by her parents, the Rev. and Mrs. F.W. Wilson; seven sisters, Bettye Bailey, Julia James, LeVern W. Powell, Dylinda W. Younger and Cynthia Wilson, all of Vicksburg, Dr. Barbara Wilson of Clinton and Cheryl W. Hall of Memphis; five brothers, the Rev. Robert Wilson, the Rev. Flem Wilson Jr. and Herman Wilson, all of Las Vegas, the Rev. Joe Wilson of Seattle, Wash., and Barney Wilson of Vicksburg; and other relatives, including Ann Riles of Las Vegas, John L. Davis of Detroit and members of the Richardson family.
