McCOMB Services for Charles Carstafhnur will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive M.B. Church in McComb with the Rev. J. Lee Harrell officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood North Cemetery in McComb.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Peoples Funeral Home in McComb.

Mr. Carstafhnur died Sunday, March 17, 2002, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. He was 46.

Mr. Carstafhnur was born in Pike County. He was a member of Mount Olive M.B. Church and attended McComb High School.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Willie Thompson; and his paternal grandparents, Roland Siegler and Regina Carstarphen.

He is survived by his parents, Jimmie and Lillie Carstarphen; his wife, Wilma Carstafhnur; two sons, Charles Carstafhnur Jr. and Nathaniel Carstafhnur, both of Newton; two sisters, Janice Carstafhnur of Vicksburg and Capri Crain of Gulfport; two brothers, Franklin Carstafhnur of Lindale, Texas, and Jimmie D. Carstafhnur of McComb; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including members of the Thompson and Nobles families of McComb and the Siegler and Carstarphen families of Mobile, Ala.

MIZELLA COOK

Mizella Cook died Tuesday, March 19, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 55.

Mrs. Cook was a Vicksburg native and a member of Love Deliverance Temple.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Cook Jr.; her parents, Edgar R. Price and Bessie Nixon; two sons, Jerel P. Cook of Vicksburg and Raymond L. Brown of Chesapeake, Va.; a daughter, Sheila D. Henderson of Vicksburg; two sisters, Joe Ann Reese of Detroit and Jessie Mae Johnson of Vicksburg; five brothers, John L. Nixon, Allen Price, Norman Price, Roy N. Nixon and Jerome W. Nixon, all of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren and other relatives.

Robbins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

LILLIAN BRYANT DONOVAN

Lillian Bryant Donovan died Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at her home in Baton Rouge. She was 88.

Mrs. Donovan was a native of Vicksburg, where she was a longtime member of St. Paul Catholic Church. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, the Bereavement Committee and the Thirty-Niners Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Henry Donovan; her parents, Porter Stewart and Carrie Lee Bryant; three sisters, Coy Gulette, Peggy Bryant and Arnita Bryant; and three brothers, Russell Don Bryant, Hugh Louis Bryant and Woodrow Bryant.

Survivors include a sister, Porter Lee Bryant Donovan of Baton Rouge and nieces, nephews and friends including her caregiver, Joyce Chambers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church with the Rev. Arun John officiating and at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church in Vicksburg with the Rev. James O’Riordan officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Friday until the service at the church in Baton Rouge and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church in Vicksburg.

Fisher-Riles Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.

LEIGH ANNE HOLLOWAY

TALLULAH Leigh Anne Holloway died Monday, March 19, 2002, as the result of a motor vehicle accident. She was 15.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Providence, where she was in the youth group. She was a sophomore honor student at Tallulah Academy, where she was a member of the Beta Club and secretary of the Student Council. She was a varsity cheerleader and member of the varsity basketball and track teams. She was a member of Fellowship of Christian Athletes and was chosen by her classmates as the student with the best personality.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, George W. Stephenson, W.J. Hicks and the late Rev. Barney L. Holloway.

She is survived by her parents, Susan and David Holloway of Tallulah; her brother, Brennan Holloway of Tallulah; her maternal grandparents, Keener and Eloise Howard of Lake Providence; and her paternal grandmother, Modell Holloway of Tallulah and aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Lake Providence with the Rev. Jimmy Kettleman and Bill Senter officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Cade Marsh, Preston Walker, William Weeks, Brent Newton, Stephen Holmes, John Marshall Whatley, Jackson David Keifer, Patrick Hattaway, Brody Ray, Nate Butler and Nathan Lee.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Tallulah Academy varsity football, basketball, baseball and track teams and the Tallulah Academy varsity cheerleaders and dance team.
