She will be one of four 6-footers on the Mississippi roster, which will face Alabama at Mississippi College on June 8 at 1 p.m.

The team of 12 has a strong Division 4-5A flavor. Natchez coach Mary Irving and guard Christen West, who led the Lady Bulldogs to the division championship, will join Clinton’s LaToya George and Benard.

Wayne County’s Gina Skelton will be Irving’s assistant.

Calvin, a 5-9 forward, will suit up for the North when it plays the South July 18 at Mississippi College. Tip-off is at 6:30 p.m. She led the Lady Vikes in scoring with 15.5 points per game and averaged 7.1 rebounds and 3.5 assists.

Ex-Porters Chapel Academy and All Saints Episcopal School coach Barbara Hartzog, who led Provine to the Class 4A state championship, will coach the team along with Ripley’s Shane Montgomery.

Vicksburg High didn’t put any players on either of the all-star teams, but at least two senior Missy Gators haven’t played their last games yet.

Coach Mike Coleman said that Marguerite Sims and Rae Evans will sign with Hinds in April.

Sims, a 5-8 guard, averaged 9.8 points, 4.1 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 3.1 steals while Evans, a 6-0 center, averaged 5.4 points and 4.6 rebounds.
