RICHARD BLUSH
EDWARDS Richard Blush died Thursday, April 4, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 88.
Born in Natalbany, La., Mr. Blush had lived in Edwards since 1947. He trained in graphic arts at the Delgado Trade School in New Orleans. He was a retired carpenter having been employed with R.E. Pendergraft and C.B. McHan Contractors. He was a member of Edwards Baptist Church where he was a deacon.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ernest Blush; his parents, Robert and Florence Kohnke Blush; and three brothers, Harold Blush, Elmer Blush and Ernest Blush.
He is survived by his wife, Edith Ramke Blush of Edwards; two sons, Richard K. Blush Jr. of Vicksburg and Herbert Blush of Yazoo City; his daughter, Florence Blush Frederick of Guntown; 10 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Edwards Baptist Church with the Revs. Russell M. McIntire and Wayne Frederick officiating. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. today until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Bill Gill, Billy Smith, Larry Dickson, Roland Cranford, Bob Fisher, Randy Emrick, Clifton Reed and Charles Rather.
BERNICE J. FARRISH
Bernice J. Farrish died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 89.
A homemaker, Mrs. Farrish was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Birdie Farrish; and her parents, Samuel Joyner and Mary Joyner.
She is survived by her cousin Claudette Jones of Reedville, N.C.; and her caregivers, Robert and Mary Frances Collier of Port Gibson.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
Vera Wallace Word
TALLULAH Vera Wallace Word died Friday, April 5, 2002, in the Madison Parish Hospital in Tallulah. She was 86.
Mrs. Word was born in Bradley, Ark., and had lived in Tallulah for 62 years.
She was a housewife and a member of First Baptist Church of Tallulah.
Mrs. Word was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Word; and a son, Jerry Word.
She is survived by one son, Bob Word of Killeen, Texas; two daughters, Dyanne Duncan and JoAnn Pittman, both of Bossier City, La.; nine grandsons and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Tallulah with the Revs. John Rushing and J.Q. Williams officiating.
Burial will follow at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home in Tallulah.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Grandville Harris, Boss Martin, Ricky Ogden, James Stroud, Gene Butler, Leslie Uzzle and Cecil Wells.
