KENDRICK ORLANDO CARTER JR.
ROLLING FORK Kendrick Orlando “KoKo” Carter Jr., infant son of Kendrick Orlando Carter Sr. and Reshonda Renea Larry of Rolling Fork, died Friday, April 5, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Larobert Rasharn Larry of Rolling Fork, and his grandmother, Mariah Larry of Rolling Fork.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Shiloh M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with J.H. Whitehead officiating. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
BERNICE J. FARRISH
Memorial services for Bernice J. Farrish will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness with Tommy Whitaker officiating.
Mrs. Farrish died Friday, April 5, 2002, at Shady Lawn Nursing Home. She was 89.
A homemaker, Mrs. Farrish was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witness.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Birdie Farrish; and her parents, Samuel Joyner and Mary Joyner.
She is survived by her cousin, Claudette Jones of Reedville, N.C.; and her caregivers, Robert and Mary Frances Collier of Port Gibson.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
LOUIS CAMPBELL HAND
TERRY Louis Campbell “L.C.” Hand died Wednesday, April 10, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 86.
A native of Hinds County, Mr. Hand was a farmer, a cattleman and was a retired store manager of Hinds Nursery and Garden Center. He was one of the founders of South Central Water Association and served as president from 1966 until 2000.
He served on the board of directors of Hinds County Farm Bureau and was honored as “Man of the Year” in 1996. He also served on the board of directors of Federal Land Bank, Farmers’ Home Administration, Jackson Production Credit Association, Hinds County Cattlemen’s Association and Terry Consolidated School.
He was a lifelong member of Bethesda Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a trustee.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Conlee Hand of Terry; his daughter, Patricia Pierce of Vicksburg; two sons, Jogene Hand of Canton and Buddy Hand of Terry; two sisters, Martha Suddeth of Jackson and Lillian Chapman of Raymond; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Dr. Bill Pierce of Vicksburg, Yancey Hand of Canton and Martha Hand of Terry.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethesda Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bethesda Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
Pallbearers will be Steve Hand, Shelton Hand, John Hand, Kevin Hand, Sam Pierce and Dr. Paul Pierce.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Ogletree, Billy Charles Mitchell, William Roberts, Roy Goode, Mike Baldwin, Lester Saranthus, James Runfelt and Eugene Osborn.

EDWARD G. ROBINSON
ROLLING FORK Edward G. Robinson, formerly of Rolling Fork, died Thursday, April 4, 2002, in East St. Louis, Ill. He was 56.
Mr. Robinson was a bus driver.
He is survived by two sons, Gregory Scott of East St. Louis and Victor Brooks of Bloomington, Ill.; one daughter, Denise Robinson of Chicago; his father, Pastor Issac Robinson of Rolling Fork; three brothers, James Robinson and Jackie Robinson, both of Rolling Fork, and Issac Robinson Jr. of Greenville; and five sisters, Velma Whitney and Nona Jones, both of St. Louis, Mo., Hazel Rodgers of Radcliff, Ky., Deborah Anderson of Rolling Fork and Annie Winder of Arlington, Texas.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Mount Lula M.B. Church in Rolling Fork with Willie Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Green Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork.
Visitation will be from noon Sunday until the service at the church.
