CLARA JEAN TRUITT

PORT GIBSON Clara Jean Truitt died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 49.

Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Truitt was a homemaker and member of Seventh Day Adventist Church in Port Gibson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. John and Zola Truitt, and her brother, John Henry Truitt.

Survivors include four sons, Melvin L. Truitt, Rovelle Truitt, Jermaine Truitt and Trevon “Fred” Truitt, all of Port Gibson; two daughters, Clorissa Truitt and Lakita J. Truitt, both of Port Gibson; five brothers, James Truitt, Edgar Truitt and Earl Truitt, all of Port Gibson, Eugene Truitt of Chicago and David Truitt of Waco, Texas; four sisters, Rachel Smith of Red Lick and Catherine Derby, Lorene Truitt and Alma Lou Henry, all of Port Gibson; seven stepchildren, Melvin Brown Jr., Anthony Brown, Sammie Warner, Teresa Bingham, Shelia Matthews, Juanita Kaho and Kenny Brown; eight grandchildren; and cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Second Baptist Church with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Saturday at Rollins Chapel in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Smith Jr., John Savage, Keith Parker, John Graham, George Lipscomb, Billy Ray Howard and Earnest Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Rovelle Truitt, Trevon Truitt, Eugene Truitt, James Truitt, Melvin Brown Jr., Anthony Brown, Lavelle Truitt, Edgar Truitt, Sammie Warner and Kenny Brown.

JAMES HENRY WHITE

FAYETTE James Henry White died Sunday, April 7, 2002, at Natchez Community Hospital. He was 59.

Born in Jefferson County, Mr. White was a retired supervisor with International Paper Company in Natchez. He was a member of the Wise Men Hunting Club and Bethlehem M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Louella Gamble White; and a brother.

He is survived by his wife, Janis White of Fayette; three daughters, Pamela White-Jackson, Janet “Tina” Frye and Joyce “Niecey” White, all of Fayette; three brothers, Frank White of New Orleans, Robert White of Natchez and Charles White of Ferriday, La.; three sisters, Mamie Herrington of Cannonsburg, Ruby Jackson of New Orleans and Maxine Allen of Powell, Tenn.; three grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Bethlehem M.B. Church in Cannonsburg with the Rev. Percy Turner officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cannonsburg.

Visitation will be from noon until 7 p.m. today at Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.

Pallbearers will be Corey Carter, Terry Herrington, Charles Phillip White Jr., Frank White III and Robert White Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Allen, Joe Anderson, Alfred Frye Sr., Jerome Herrington, Charles Phillip White Sr., Frank White Jr., Robert Lee White Sr. and Vernie Washington.
