LYNDA RAE ANDERSON BUFKIN

Lynda Rae Anderson Bufkin died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 62.

Born in Claiborne County, Mrs. Bufkin had lived in Vicksburg for the last 36 years. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, Troy H. Anderson; and a brother, H.J. Anderson.

She is survived by her husband, Jack D. Bufkin Sr. of Vicksburg; two sons, Jack D. Bufkin Jr. and Kenneth J. Bufkin, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Valynda C. Culley of Port Gibson and Janet E. Scallions of Vicksburg; her mother, Rebecca Anderson of Vicksburg; her brother, Evan Anderson of Vicksburg; two sisters, Joan Fulton of St. Louis, Mo., and Elsie Cressman of Jackson, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating. Burial will follow at Hermanville Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home and from 9 a.m. Friday until the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Tony Bufkin, Richard Bufkin, Mickey Bufkin, Ural Bliss Jr., James Bufkin, Mark Anderson, John Cressman Jr. and Roy Mathes.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Bufkin, Jack Tillotson and her nephews.

CORINE REED

Corine Reed died Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 95.

Mrs. Reed was a member of Mount Calvary M.B. Church, where she was a member of the senior choir and served on other church auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Reed; three brothers, Edward Barnes, Arthur Barnes and G.P. Barnes.

She is survived by a niece, Barbara Duperon of New Orleans; and other relatives, including John and Lucille Smith and the Darden, Nailor, Harriet and Jackson families, all of Vicksburg.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

JOSEPH DANIEL SMITH

PATTISON Joseph Daniel Smith died Sunday, April 21, 2002, at his home in Pattison. He was 74.

Mr. Smith retired as a laborer from Southern Lumber Co. and was a retired security guard with Port Gibson High School. He was a member of St. Luke Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Elnora Smith.

Survivors include three sons, Freddie Dorsey of Vicksburg and Jerome Dorsey and Patrick Moore, both of Pattison; two daughters, Rosa Jackson of Pattison and Bertha Jones of Omaha, Neb.; one sister, Mary L. Carter of Seattle, Wash.; nine grandchildren; and friends and other relatives, including Susie Branch of Dallas.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at St. Luke Christian Church in Pattison with T.E. Harris officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be until 4 p.m. today at Rollins Chapel of Port Gibson.
