GWENDOLYN L. MILTON

Gwendolyn L. “Gwen” Milton died Monday, May 13, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 33.

Mrs. Milton was preceded in death by her brother, Roosevelt Brown; three sisters, Addie Rockhill, Rosemary Rockhill and Lucille Rockhill; her maternal grandparents, Louis and Willie Mae Mitchell; and her paternal grandparents, Sylvester and Lucille Rockhill.

She is survived by her husband, Leroy Milton of Vicksburg; her father, Robert Rockhill of Vicksburg; her mother, Minnie Brown Rockhill of Vicksburg; two sisters, Barbara Williams Ross and Sharon “Shell” Williams, both of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.

ORA C. OWENS

Services for Ora C. Owens will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Oak Chapel M.B. Church with the Rev. J.T. Sampson officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Owens died Friday, May 10, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 87.

Mrs. Owens was a Bovina homemaker, a mother of Oak Chapel M.B. Church in Bovina and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elijah Cook.

She is survived by her husband, Fred Owens; one son, Freddie Owens of Morton; one brother, Alex Cook of Vallejo, Calif.; and two sisters, Ethel Robinson of Vallejo and Ollie M. Cook of Vicksburg.

CALVIN ROBINSON

LORMAN Calvin Robinson died Saturday, May 11, 2002, at the Jefferson County Nursing Center. He was 84.

Mr. Robinson was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Robinson and Carrie Williams; a sister, Annie Brown; a brother, Bernard Williams; and a brother-in-law, Calvin Smith.

He is survived by a sister, Mildred Smith of Fayette; a brother, Leroy Robinson of Lorman; six nieces; four nephews; and friends and other relatives, including Dorothy Robinson of Fayette.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson with the Rev. Kemp Burton of Fellowship Baptist Church in Lorman officiating. Burial will follow at Fellowship Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 until 6 today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the funeral home chapel.

LEE DORA SMITH

Services for Lee Dora Smith will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. James M.B. Church with the Rev. Charlie Blackmore officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Smith died Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. She was 80.

Born in Tallulah, Mrs. Smith was a homemaker and member of St. James M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Webber; her father, Hudson Bell; a son, Robert Smith; a daughter, Gloriastein Thomas; two sisters, Mary Holliday Johnson and Laura Mays; and two granddaughters, Ledoris Smith Fields and Kawya Moore.

Survivors include four sons, Charles Smith, Otis Smith and Annias Smith, all of Vicksburg, and Eugene Smith of Pontiac, Mich.; five daughters, Erma Smith and Carolyn Jenkins, both of Vicksburg, Sandra Williams and Mary Moore of Saginaw, Mich., and Dorothy Hargrove of San Francisco; one brother, Alonzo Webber of Vicksburg; nieces; nephews; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
