C. THEODORE SMITH II

C. Theodore “Teddy” Smith II died Friday, May 17, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 40.

Mr. Smith was born in Dayton, Tenn., and had lived in Vicksburg for the past 33 years. He was a 1980 graduate of Warren Central High School and attended Mississippi State University and the University of Southern Mississippi. He was employed as the purchasing director at Rouse Polymerics International, Inc. He was a member of the Church of the Holy Trinity.

Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Audra Smith of Vicksburg; one son, Caden Smith of Vicksburg; one daughter, Logan Smith of Vicksburg; his stepfather, Paul Kelly Loyacono of Vicksburg; his mother, Jackie Loyacono of Vicksburg; his father, C. Ted Smith of Chattanooga, Tenn.; one brother, Paul Loyacono of Vicksburg; two sisters, Anna Pat Cyrus of Chattanooga and Chloe Loyacono Thames of Vicksburg; and one niece, Amber Ann Huckaby of Chattanooga.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Church of the Holy Trinity with the Rev. David Elliott officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be at Glenwood Funeral Home from 2 to 4 p.m. today, and at Holy Trinity from 9 a.m. until the service Monday.

Memorials may be made to the Warren County Children’s Shelter.

Pallbearers will be Marvin Geter, Mickle Hayward, Nathan Benn, Patrick Murphy, George Banks, Jimmy Ray, Jim Warren, Michael Carlisle and Todd Brown.

JOHN MICHAEL HOLLOWAY

TALLULAH John Michael Holloway died Friday, May 17, 2002, at his home. He was 20.

Mr. Holloway was born in Delhi, La., and had lived in Madison Parish all of his life. He was a student.

He is survived by his mother, Jody L. Vyvial of Tallulah; his stepfather, Thomas Vyvial of Tallulah; his brother, Paul Holloway Jr. of Tallulah; his sister, Amanda H. Busby of Tallulah; his grandmother, Beth Thomas of Tallulah; his step-grandfather, Melvin Thomas of Tallulah; and his grandfather, C.W. Holloway of Tallulah.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Cletus Moak officiating. Burial will follow at Silver Cross Cemetery in Tallulah.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Brad Smith, Patrick Cobb, Joseph Tarver, Jimmy Lopez, Wayne Westmoreland, Ludia Westmoreland and Greg Busby.

CARL DEAN LONG

CLINTON Carl Dean Long died Friday, May 17, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. He was 45.

Mr. Long was born in Jackson and was a resident of Clinton. He was a former resident of Natchez and a 1975 graduate of South Natchez High School. He attended Co-Lin Community College and was a 1994 graduate of Hinds Community College School of Nursing. He was employed as a critical care registered nurse in Vicksburg. He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ersel Carr Long.

He is survived by his wife, Kelly Tidwell Long of Clinton; one daughter, Olivia Sagan Long of Clinton; his father, L.L. “Bobbie” Long of Natchez; two sisters, Joann Smith of Jackson, and Dianne Sanders of Richland; and one brother, Glynn Long of Conway, Ark.

Services will be at 6 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Clinton.

Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 6 p.m.

MARGURITE M. RANEY

Margurite M. Raney died Friday, May 17, 2002, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. She was 67.

Mrs. Raney was a native of Yazoo County and was a resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elzy Kemp and Callie Miles Hampton; her sister, Rena Ronell Hampton; and two brothers, Robert Lamar Hampton and Joseph Hampton.

She is survived by her husband, Robert E. Raney of Vicksburg; three sons, Billy Raney, Bobby Raney and Johnny Raney, all of Vicksburg; a daughter, Diane Cook of Vicksburg; three brothers, William Clifton Hampton of New Hampshire, Elbert Hampton of El Dorado, Ark., and Ray Hampton of Washington, D.C.; and four sisters, Mary E, Chester of Vicksburg, Margie Fay Milo of Vallejo, Calif., Jeannie C. Ables of Panama City, Fla., and Gloria Pettway of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with the Revs. Bert Bryant and Clyde Pullens officiating.

Visitation will be at Fisher-Riles Funeral Home Monday from 11 a.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Raney, Billy Stephenson, Danny Chester, Sammy Raney Jr., Mike Hampton, Todd Hampton, Mike Carpenter and Randy Ford.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Raney, Jimmy Chester, Dennis Raney, Sonny Redditt and Allen Hampton.

JOHN D. WARD

John D. Ward died Friday, May 17, 2002, in Vicksburg. He was 67.

Mr. Ward was born in Vernon, Ala., and was a resident of Vicksburg for 30 years. He was a graduate of New Hope High School and a veteran of the Army during the Korean Conflict.

He was a truck driver and a member of the Church of Christ and Long Lake Hunting and Fishing Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Winston Ward and Tivie Lee Lollar; and his sister, Linda Orr.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Cooper Ward of Utica; two daughters, Connie Ingle of Grand Junction, Colo., and Patricia Gray of Montrose, Colo.; two brothers, Dupree Ward of Artesia, Miss., and Steve Ward of Columbus; two sisters, Peggy Fromm of Dallas and Wanda Montgomery of Columbus; and four grandchildren.

Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Furnace Hill Cemetery in Vernon, Ala., under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus.

Visitation will be from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m.

Brian Keith Williamson

TALLULAH Brian Keith Williamson died Saturday, May 18, 2002, at Madison Parish Hospital. He was 33.

Mr. Williamson was a lifelong resident of Tallulah and was a postal clerk with the U.S. Post Office. He was a graduate of Tallulah Academy and was a disabled veteran of the Marine Corps. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Audra Huckaby Williamson of Tallulah; one son, Brian Keith Williamson Jr. of Vicksburg; one daughter, Mary Beth Williamson of Vicksburg; his mother and father, Carl and Linda Williamson of Tallulah; one sister, Karen Collins of Zachary, La.; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bill Machen, Chris Cagnolatti, Chris Tipson, Cal Trichell, Bubba Todd and Rick Kivett.
