Douglas enters tonight’s game against Tulane riding a 10-2 record and a 2.88 ERA over 93 2/3 innings. He became the first Golden Eagle pitcher since 1991 to earn 10 wins in a season and can tie the school mark of 11 with a win tonight.

Southern Miss (35-20, 18-11), which could have earned a No. 3 seed in the tournament, instead fell to fourth after being swept by defending C-USA champion Tulane (33-23, 17-13) on the last weekend of the season.

Tonight’s game in Kinston, N.C., will pit those same teams against one another at 6:30 p.m.

Tulane’s James Jurries earned C-USA Player of the Year honors, while Houston’s Brad Sullivan took Pitcher of the Year honors.

East Carolina’s Darryl Lawhorn took home Freshman of the Year honors and Louisville’s Lelo Prado took the league’s top coaching honor.
