OLETA COLTHARP

COLUMBUS Oleta Coltharp died Friday, May 31, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 90.

Mrs. Coltharp was born in Columbus. She attended school in Columbus and Soul Business College in New Orleans. She retired from First Columbus National Bank in 1977 after 49 years of service. She was one of the founders and the first state President of “Women in Banking,” a charter member of the Pilot Club and a member of the Soroptomist Club. She was also a member of First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger W. Coltharp; and her parents, David and Roxie Tipper Baker.

She is survived by her daughter, Jettie Gaines of Winter Haven, Fla.; two sons, David Coltharp of Vicksburg and Kyle Raines of DeLand, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Gunter & Peel Funeral Home in Columbus with Dr. Bobby Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Friendship Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m.-noon Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Rowdy Gaines, Steve Coltharp, Scott Coltharp, Randy Raines, Richie Baker, Cliff Backer, Josh Baker and Andy Baker

LOREN D. EATON

PETAL Loren D. Eaton died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Wesley Medical Center. He was 74.

Born in Kingfisher County, Okla., Mr. Eaton was a resident of Petal. He retired in 1972 from the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a Korean War veteran and served two tours of duty in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Kathryn Ballard Eaton of Petal; two daughters, Tamela D. Grant of Petal and Pamela A. Sellars of Sand Springs, Okla.; his stepson, Dr. Paul Ballard of Vicksburg; his stepdaughter, Dr. Barbara B. Mauldin of Petal; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home in Hattiesburg. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Vicksburg.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home

TONY K. YOUNG SR.

Tony K. Young Sr. died Friday, May 31, 2002. He was 40.

Mr. Young was a member of The House Of Israel in Jackson. He served in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thornton and Catherine Young; a brother, John Thornton; and a sister, Diane Young.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Young of Vicksburg; two sons, Tony K. Young Jr. and Eric Williams, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Angela Young of Vicksburg and Yaffa Young of Pattison; three brothers, Ahviyya Yisrael of Vicksburg, Melvin Young of Forest and Michael Young of Chicago; two sisters, Cynthia Wright of Vicksburg and Mary Russel of Kansas city, Mo.; one grandchild; and other relatives, including Mapalene McCullough of Pattison.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of the arrangements.
