JACQUELINE COHRON

UTICA Jacqueline Cohron died Thursday, May 30, 2002, at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. She was 60.

Born in Excel, Ala., Mrs. Cohron was reared in Utica. She had lived in Los Angeles since 1971. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Smith of Los Angeles; one son, Sean Smith of Utica; one daughter, Kim Tawyea of Los Angeles; her father, H.A. Cohron of Utica; and a sister, Roxie Cohron of Los Angeles.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Utica Baptist Church with the Rev. Jackie Baines officiating. Burial will follow at Utica Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

ROSIE M. HUELL PALMER

Services for Rosie M. Huell Palmer will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Travelers Rest Baptist Church on Bowmar Avenue with the Rev. Thomas Bernard officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Palmer died Tuesday, May 28, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 77.

Mrs. Palmer was a homemaker and member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Palmer; one daughter, Ruby Garrett Moore; her parents, Bennie and Emma Carpenter Huell; and three brothers, Louis Huell, Bennie Huell and Albert Huell.

Survivors include three brothers, Charles Huell of Jackson and Bobbie Huell and Clarance Huell, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Katie Huell Walls of Mesa, Ariz., and Pearl Huell Harris of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, including Edward Huell Jr., Bennie Huell, Perry Huell, Shirley Huell Reed and Bettye Brown, all of whom she reared and live in Vicksburg.

MINNIE ZULA SMITH

TALLULAH Minnie Zula Smith died Friday, May 31, 2002, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, La. She was 89.

Mrs. Smith was born in Baskin, La., and had lived in Madison Parish for more than 55 years. She was a homemaker and member of Flowers Landing Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence “Tint” Smith, and two sons, Clinton Max Smith and James Edward Smith.

Survivors include a son, Kenneth J. Smith of Tallulah; four daughters, Barbara Ann Watson and Glyn Lawson, both of Monroe, Jerry Richardson of St. Joseph and Fae Holloway of Baskin; and 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Tallulah.

Pallbearers will be Bubba Richardson, Bo Holloway, Jamie Smith, Wade Hargrave, Brad Smith and Ben Lawson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Skeen, John Lawrence, Austin Richardson, Max Richardson, Kenny Lawson, Chad Hargrave, Blake Smith, Clinton Hargrave and Michael Peeler.

WILLIS LAFAYETTE TATE

LAKE PROVIDENCE Willis Lafayette Tate died Friday, May 31, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 85.

Mr. Tate was born in Red River Parish.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mary Emma Jolly Tate.

He is survived by his wife, Geneva Tate of Lake Providence; two sons, Charles Robert Tate and Billy Ray Tate, both of Monticello, La.; four daughters, Jeanette Hankins of Oak Grove, Marie Jobe of Tallulah, Brenda Connor of Epps and Shirly Tate of Rock Falls, Ill.; a brother, Garland Tate of Oakdale, La.; and 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at New Hope Baptist Church in Monticello with the Rev. Fred Hale officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home in Oak Grove.

Pallbearers will be W.L. Payne, Ricky Arledge, Sonny Wolf, Larry Vickery, Leon Ellerbe and Mike Petoskey.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Bishop and John Vinings Sr.

DANIEL TAYLOR

Services for Daniel Taylor will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bypass Church of Christ with the Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at Robbins Funeral Home and from noon Tuesday until the service at the church.

Mr. Taylor died Wednesday, May 29, 2002, at his home. He was 74.

A native and lifelong resident of Yokena, Mr. Taylor was a member of the Mission 66 Church of Christ. He was an Army veteran and a retired co-driller for Waterways Experiment Station.

He was preceded in death by a son, Charles Taylor; a daughter, Marsha Taylor; and brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Alfreda Scott Taylor; four sons, Daniel Taylor Jr. of California, Larry Taylor of Houston, Texas, Lawrence Taylor of Jackson and John Wesley Taylor of Vicksburg; four daughters, Fannie Greer and Lillie Rose Bingham, both of Jackson, Thelma Jean Jones of Cleveland, Ohio, and Velma Hills of Vicksburg; two stepsons, Saxton Leon Scott and George Deon Scott, both of Vicksburg; two sisters, Effie Harps and Maude Drake, both of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives.

TONY K. YOUNG SR.

Tony K. Young Sr. died Friday, May 31, 2002. He was 40.

Mr. Young was a member of The House of Israel in Jackson. He served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Thornton and Catherine Young; a brother, John Thornton; and a sister, Diane Young.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Young of Vicksburg; two sons, Tony K. Young Jr. and Eric Williams, both of Vicksburg; two daughters, Angela Young of Vicksburg and Yaffa Young of Pattison; three brothers, Ahviyya Yisael of Vicksburg, Melvin Young of Forest and Michael Young of Chicago; two sisters, Cynthia Wright of Vicksburg and Mary Russel of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandchild; and aunts, uncles, cousins and other relatives and friends, including Mapalene McCullough of Pattison.

Services will be at noon Tuesday with the Brother Billy Drake officiating at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Benard Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
