Issac “Dank” Nickson died Saturday, June 8, 20002, at his home. He was 75.

Mr. Nickson was employed with the City of Vicksburg in the Street Department. He was a member of Mount Alban M.B. Church.

He is survived by his wife, Altee Nickson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Diane Linson of Vicksburg and Valarie Linson of Jackson; two sisters, Ida Mae Bingham and Bessie Lee Howard, both of Vicksburg; his brother, John L. Nickson of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

ALBERT PERKINS

Albert Perkins died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at his home. He was 86.

Mr. Perkins was a deacon at Porters Chapel M.B. Church. A veteran, he served in the Army. He retired from the V.A. Hospital in Downey, Ill., after 26 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Annie Perkins; and three brothers, Joseph Perkins, John Perkins and Ben Perkins.

Survivors include his wife, Rosie Lee Perkins of Vicksburg; one daughter, Dorothy Woodson of Oak Park, Ill.; two brothers, Melvin Perkins of Vicksburg and Robert McCoy of Chicago; four sisters, Ollie Whitaker, Irene Johnson and Thelma Kent, all of Vicksburg, and Mary Fenderson of New Orleans; and four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other relatives.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

WALTER O. SMITH JR.

TALLULAH Walter O. Smith Jr. died Tuesday, June 11, 2002, at Olive Branch Senior Care Center in Tallulah. He was 84.

Born in Moorhead, Mr. Smith had lived in New Orleans and in Tensas Parish for the past 20 years. He was a retired heavy-equipment operator.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Smith Thompson of Tallulah; his son, Johnny Smith of Newellton; a sister, Ouida Smith of Tallulah; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including J.C. Smith of Newellton.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the chapel of Olive Branch Senior Care Center with the Rev. Fred Fulton officiating.
