INFANT CARTER
The infant son of Charles Bernard Scott and LaDonna Lee Carter, died Monday, June 10, 2002, at River Region Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, the infant is survived by his maternal grandparents, Raymond and Vickie Carter; his paternal grandparents, Charles and Patricia Scott; his great-grandmother, Ethel Lee Carter; and other relatives.
Services will be at noon Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Burial will follow under the direction of Robbins Funeral Home.
LAWRENCE HAROLD CAVE
Lawrence Harold Cave died Wednesday, June 12, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson. He was 66.
Born in Council Bluff, Iowa, Mr. Cave was a 1952 graduate of Murphy High School in Mobile, Ala. He received his bachelor of civil engineering degree from Auburn University in 1958 and did post-graduate studies at Harvard University and the University of California. He was employed as a civil engineer with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for 42 years. He worked in the Lower Mississippi Valley Division, Mississippi River Commission from 1967 until he retired in 1994. He served as chief of soils and foundation branch, geotechnical and materials division and engineering directorate. He was listed in the Gallery of Distinguished Employees in 1994.
He was a member of the Salvation Army board of directors, American Society Civil Engineers, Professional Engineers and Crawford Street United Methodist Church where he was a member of the men’s breakfast club and the friendship Sunday school class.
He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Harold Cave Sr.; and a son, Lawrence H. Cave III.
He is survived by his wife, Edna B. Cave of Vicksburg; two daughters, Catherine Lee Cave Mobley of Roswell, Ga., and Elizabeth Ellen Cave Williams of Hernando; his mother, Evelyn Tesler Cave of Lawrenceville, Ga.; his sister, Sharon Cave Shaw of Atlanta; and a granddaughter, Miranda Catherine Williams of Hernando.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church with the Rev. Geoffrey Joyner officiating. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Hugh Green, Wade West, Burton Boyd, Bobby Fleming, Doug Tanner and Glenn Pickering.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Stafford, Dr. William Thomas Rueff, Dr. Reed Hogan, Dr. G.C. Stubblefield and members of the friendship Sunday school class and the youth of Crawford Street United Methodist church.

TOM JACKSON
HERMANVILLE Tom Jackson died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at Loma Linda Hospital in San Bernardino, Calif. He was 51.
Mr. Jackson was a 1969 graduate of Addison High School. He was employed as a truck driver for the Red Ball Trucking Company.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ethel Mae Jackson; and a daughter, Charlean Jackson.
He is survived by five children, including Timothy Douglas and Chasity Douglas, both of Chattanooga; his father, James W. Jackson of Port Gibson; three sisters, Ethel Robinson of Port Gibson, Charlean Johnson of Memphis and Annie Stewman of Tacoma, Wash.; four brothers, James Jackson Jr., Ivry Lee Jackson and Lyndon Jackson, all of Hermanville, and Webbie Lee Jackson of Seattle, Wash.; three grandchildren; and other relatives, including Shelia Wallace of Vicksburg and Donald Sanders of Nashville.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mountro Grove Baptist Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Horace McBride officiating. Burial will follow at St. Phillip Cemetery in Hermanville under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.
Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
ISSAC NICKSON
Issac “Dank” Nickson died Saturday, June 8, 2002, at his home. He was 75.
Mr. Nickson worked for the City of Vicksburg in the Street Maintenance Department. He was a member of Mount Alban M.B. Church.
He was preceded in death by a daughter and two brothers.
He is survived by his wife, Altee Nickson of Vicksburg; two daughters, Diane Linson of Vicksburg and Valarie Linson of Jackson; two sisters, Ida Mae Bingham and Bessie Lee Howard, both of Vicksburg; a brother, John L. Nickson of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Alban M.B. Church with the Rev. Walter Weathersby officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday at Robbins Funeral Home, followed by wake from 6 until 7 p.m., and from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.
