Services for Geneva Lewis will be at noon Saturday at Mt. Alban Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Weathersby officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Robbins Funeral Home in charge.
Visitation will be in the funeral home chapel all day Friday and at Mt. Alban from 11 a.m. Saturday until the service.
Mrs. Lewis died Friday, June 28, 2002. She was 88.
A native of Warren County, Mrs. Lewis was a retired domestic worker and a member of St. Peter’s Missionary Baptist Church.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her husband, Hezekiah Lewis; her daughter, Martha White of Vicksburg; her brother, Percy Miller of Chicago; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
CLEVELAND BROWN
Cleveland “Sonnyboy” Brown died Tuesday, June 25, 2002, in Houston,Texas. He was 66.
Mr. Brown was a resident of Houston and was a former resident of Anguilla.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth Brown of Houston; his mother, Lucille Brown of Chicago; one daughter, Emma Jean Brown of Chicago; one son, Cleveland Scott of Rolling Fork; two sisters, Willie Mae Hampton and Mattie Steveson of Chicago; four brothers, Joseph Brown and David Brown of Anguilla, Roosevelt Brown of Jackson and Robert Brown of Rolling Fork; five stepchildren, seven grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Light Missionary Baptist Church in Anguilla with the Rev. James Miller officiating.
Visitation will be at Walker Funeral Home from 6 until 7 p.m.
Interment will be at Cynthia Anna Cemetery on Old Highway 61 in Anguilla.
MELVIN RAY DYKES
Melvin Ray Dykes died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at his home in Vicksburg. He was 52.
Mr. Dykes was a native of Vicksburg and had lived in Jackson for the past 20 years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Eugene Dykes; and his brother, Willis Gerald Dykes.
Mr. Dykes was the owner and operator of a construction company for over 20 years. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church.
He was also a member of Browns Point Hunting Club.
He is survived by his mother, Annie Pearl Dykes of Vicksburg; a brother, Tommy Dykes of Vicksburg; two nieces, Amy McMahon of River Region, La., and Ann Marie Dykes of Ridgeland; and two nephews, Brian Dykes of Clinton and Adam Dykes of Vicksburg.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the Fisher Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Steve Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. Friday until the service.
Memorials may be made to Highland Baptist Church, 3518 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg 39180.
Pallbearers will be Ben Allen, George Joy, Ray Sudduth, Frankie Box, Tommy Bufkin, Brian Dykes and Adam Dykes.
Honorary pallbearers will be all members of the Browns Point Hunting Club.
