SHREVEPORT, La. Carrie Cecil Finklea died Wednesday, July 3, 2002, at W.K. Pierremont Health Center in Shreveport. She was 88.

Mrs. Finklea was a former resident of the Delhi area.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wright Finklea; and a son, Dale Finklea.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou McDonald of Delhi; three sons, Nolan Finklea and Robert M. Finklea, both of Zwolle, La., and Rex Finklea of West Monroe; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home with Wilfred Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Bethel cemetery in Holly Ridge, La., under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Michael McDonald, Shane McDonald, Douglas McDonald, Marcus McDonald, Robert Disotell and Ryan Disotell.

JOE EARL JOHNSON

PORT GIBSON Joe Earl Johnson died Sunday, June 30, 2002, at Claiborne County Nursing Home in Port Gibson. He was 59.

Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Johnson was a retired laborer with Pickens Lumber Yard in Port Gibson. He was a member of China Grove M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his son, Sammie Johnson; his father, Adam Reed Sr.; and his grandfather, George Tucker.

He is survived by his wife, Louetta Johnson of Jackson; four sons, Johnny Ray Johnson and Maurice Adam Johnson, both of Jackson, and Clifton Green and Clifford Green, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Joann Green of Vicksburg, Alicia Johnson of Jackson, and Melissa Green and Angie Harris, both of Port Gibson; his mother, Savannah Johnson of Port Gibson; four brothers, Henry Johnson and Connie Johnson, both of Vicksburg, Charles Jones of Vero Beach, Fla., and Adam Reed Jr. of Port Gibson; five sisters, Daisy Johnson, Mary Ann King and Sandra Waites, all of Port Gibson, Willie Ruth Tate of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Jackie Reed of Vicksburg; and other relatives.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at China Grove M.B. Church in Russum with the Rev. Leon Nelson officiating. Burial will follow at McCaa Cemetery in Russum.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. at Rollins Funeral Home in Port Gibson.

Pallbearers will be Oliver Huns, Alonzo Hicks, James Johnson, Kirk Johnson Sr., Kirk Johnson Jr. and Bob Brown Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be Henry Johnson, Charles Jones, Connie Johnson, Adam Reed Jr. and Samuel Johnson.

JO ANN POWELL WARREN

Jo Ann Powell Warren died Friday, July 5, 2002, at her home. She was 41.

Mrs. Warren was preceded in death by her father, Willie Lee Powell Sr.

She is survived by her fiance, Adolph L. Williams of Vicksburg; her mother, Susie Parker Powell of Vicksburg; a brother, Willie Powell Jr. of Los Angeles, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy Chambers, Lena Powell Chiplin and Susie Williams, all of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews and relatives.
