St. Al’s Roesch, MC’s Temple capture top coaching honors

[07/17/02]A former Warren Central baseball coach and the St. Aloysius cross country coach were honored by the Mississippi Association of Coaches.

Donald Roesch, who led the Flashes to the Class 1A state championship, earned Cross Country Coach of the Year.

One of his runners, Mississippi College signee Mack Henry, captured the individual state championship.

Sam Temple, who guided the Vikings to a No. 4 national ranking and the school’s first baseball state championship in 2001 and recently took a job as an assistant coach at Mississippi College, earned the MAC’s top baseball honor.

Randy Broome, an assistant on that team and the current WC coach, earned a distinguished coaching award.
