WILLIE LEE BAILEY
Willie Lee Bailey died today, July 30, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.
A lifelong resident of Warren County, Mrs. Bailey taught with the Vicksburg Warren School District for 42 years. She retired in 1992. She was a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church where she was an usher.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the Rev. J.H. Williams and Martha J. Williams; a daughter, Constella Hill; and a son, Joseph Bailey.
She is survived by her husband, the Rev. Frank Bailey of Vicksburg; her daughter, Frankie Lee Goodman of Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
LOUISE S. BOGGS
ONA, Fla. Louise S. Boggs died Friday, July 26, 2002, in Sebring, Fla. She was 82.
Born in Ballard County, Ky., Mrs. Boggs was a longtime resident of Vicksburg. She had moved to Ona, Fla., to live with her daughter.
She attended Murry College in Kentucky and received her specialist degree in education from Mississippi College. She was a teacher and administrator in the Vicksburg, Sharkey and Issaquena public schools.
She was a member of Crawford Street United Methodist Church, Delta Kappa Gamma, Mississippi Education Association, Business and Professional Women’s Club and Good Sam’s Camping Club.
Mrs. Boggs was preceded in death by her husband, A.L. Boggs; a sister, Sue Moss; and a grandson, Henry A. Gilliard.
Survivors include one daughter, Nelwyn B. Bolin of Ona; a granddaughter, Logan Harned of Wauchula, Fla.; a great-grandson, Henry Levi Lovett of Wauchula; and other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Robarts Family Garden Chapel in Wauchula. Burial will follow at Wauchula Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Robarts Family Funeral Home.
A memorial service will begin at 6 p.m. Friday at Crawford Street United Methodist Church.
Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
LOTTIE GOODMAN
Lottie Goodman died Saturday, July 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 55.
Mr. Goodman was a member of Travelers Rest M.B. Church. He retired from Sigmaform as a computer analyst.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fannie Mae Stanford Goodman and Bert Earl Goodman Sr.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Goodman of Vicksburg; three daughters, Rolanda Grayer of Utica, Cynthia Good-Randle of Vicksburg and Sandra Waters of Yazoo City; five brothers, Edward Goodman, Bert Goodman Jr., Donald Goodman, Larry Goodman and Malcolm Goodman, all of Vicksburg; four sisters, Lou Ella Taylor of Vicksburg, Betty James of Carson, Calif., and Lizzie Cason and Anance Goodman, both of Grand Rapids, Mich.; eight grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Travelers Rest M.B. Church. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Williams Funeral Service.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the service at the church.
JOE LOUIS GUY
PORT GIBSON Joe Louis Guy died Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in Port Gibson. He was 62.
Mr. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie and Estella Guy, and two sisters, Mary Washington and Angeline Hosey Sullivan.
He is survived by his son, Joseph Goods of Milwaukee, Wis.; a daughter, Tina Guy of Milwaukee; three brothers, James Guy of Port Gibson, Herman Guy of Hermanville and Eddie Guy of Memphis; five sisters, Estella Rone and Gracie Barnes, both of Memphis, Ethel Watkins of Kansas City, Mo., and Willie Mae Miller and Thelma Reed, both of Jackson; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Services were at 1 p.m. Sunday at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Port Gibson with Eddie Guy officiating. Burial followed at Carbondale Cemetery in Lorman.
LUCILLE LEONARD
MEADVILLE Lucille Leonard died Sunday, July 28, 2002, at Hospice of Central Mississippi. She was 86.
Mrs. Leonard was a retired telephone operator and caregiver. She was a member of Mount Olive Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Nathaniel and Annie Mullins Thornton; her husband, Gus Vincent Leonard; two brothers, Rudolph and Sidney Earl Thornton; and a sister, Bessie Higginbotham.
She is survived by a son, James Vincent Leonard of Vicksburg; a daughter, Katherine Leonard Jones of Meadville; one brother, Herbert Thornton of Meadville; four sisters, Mae Ivey and Ernestine McCartney, both of Centreville, and Annie Laura Summerall and Pearl Kent Holland, both of Meadville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Franklin Funeral Home in Meadville. Burial followed at Midway Cemetery in Meadville.

AURELLA FRANKLIN SMITH
Aurella Franklin Smith died Monday, July 29, 2002, at her home. She was 99.
A native of Warren County, Mrs. Smith was a member of Shady Grove M.B. Church where she served on the mother board.
She is survived by two daughters, Delores T. Smith of Memphis and Artimease Little of Springfield, Mass.; two sons, Isaac Smith Jr. and Charles E. Smith Sr., both of Vicksburg; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 12 stepgreat-grandchildren; and six stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
