EDITH BOBO

WEST POINT Edith Bobo died Monday, July 29, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus. She was 86.

Mrs. Bobo had lived in Sharkey County for many years and lived in West Point for the last 10 years. She was a member of Deer Creek Baptist Church in Rolling Fork.

She is survived by two sons, Wesley Bobo of Walls and Robert Bobo of West Point; her daughter, Sue Garcia of West Point; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Reese Kyzar officiating. Burial will follow at Golden Link Cemetery in Anguilla.

FRANKIE CUBIT

CARY Services for Frankie “Mae-Mae” Cubit will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton with the Rev. Roosevelt Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Cary Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2 until 6 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Cubit died Thursday, July 25, 2002, at Sharkey-Issaquena Community Hospital. She was 64.

A homemaker, Mrs. Cubit was a member of New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Norman and Annie Mae Willis, and a sister, Betty Brown.

She is survived by her husband, Joseph Cubit of Cary; one son, Dennis Norman of Las Vegas; three daughters, Geraldine Norman, Zporia Norman and Linda Norman, all of Monroe, La.; a brother, Joe Norman of Chicago; a sister, Mary Albert of Las Vegas; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

BEATRICE HALL

Services for Beatrice Hall will be at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Rosary will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Thursday at Williams Funeral Service.

Mrs. Hall died Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 84.

Mrs. Hall was retired from Westinghouse and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Hanks and Anderson Carter, and two sisters, Martha Norford and Minnie Cry.

Survivors include her son, James Norford of Oakland, Calif.; a daughter, Janie Raymond of Oakland; one brother, Jimmie Cry of Berkeley, Calif.; and other relatives and friends.

PARNELL JOHNSON JR.

Parnell Johnson Jr. died Monday, July 29, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 52.

Mr. Johnson was employed by the City of Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his father, Parnell Johnson Sr.; his mother; and a sister, Bobbie Oliver.

Survivors include three brothers, Andy Johnson, Robert Earl Johnson and Herbert Johnson, all of Vicksburg; and two sisters, Maxine Johnson Davenport of Vicksburg and Delores Johnson of Gary, Ind.

Williams Funeral Service has charge of arrangements.

EZEKIEL SIMS SR.

Ezekiel Sims Sr. died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. He was 74.

Mr. Sims was a member of Shiloh M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sallie Mae Sims.

He is survived by two sons, Lee Dale Sims of Edwards and Ezekiel Sims Jr. of Biloxi; two daughters, Carrie Selvy and Pearlina Carter, both of Edwards; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Dorothy H. Sims, Henry Selvy and Percy Carter, all of Edwards, and Virginia Sims of Biloxi.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
