Beatrice “Bea” Logue Patterson died Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 95,

Mrs. Patterson was a native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg and Warren County. She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and Southern Business College. She was the first woman certified public accountant in the state. She was employed by Buckner, Buckner and Bridges for a number of years until her retirement in 1989.

She was a former state and local president of Mississippi Public Accountants, state and local president and founder of Vicksburg Retarded Citizens Association; Business and Professional Women’s Club, Credit Women Breakfast Club, Who’s Who American Women, member of Republican Party Committee, St. Paul Altar Society and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harris L. and Mary Culkin Logue; her husband, J.C. Patterson; two brothers, Hugh Logue Sr. and Harold Logue; two sisters, Clyde Given and Marion Angel.

She is survived by a sister, Vera Davis of Pearl; a stepson, John C. Patterson of Madison and a step-grandson, Sean Patterson of Madison; and other relatives including Ella Mae Logue and Lucille Logue, both of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10 a.m., Friday, at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas McGing officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service Friday at Fisher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Trey Logue, Louis Logue, Michael Logue, John Given, Greg Bryan, Scott Statham and Kearney Waites.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jane Wendrow, Linda McLeod, Landy Teller, Ed Buckner, Dr. Walter Johnston, Russell Barnes, E.G. Culkin, W.E. Johnson, employees of Marcus Furniture and Heritage House Nursing Home.

Memorials may be made to MIDD-West Industries, 100 Smokey lane, Vicksburg, MS 39180, or the Special Olympics in care of Heidi Chausse, 1111 Choctaw Trail, Vicksburg, MS 39180.

CEOLA D. WARD

BOLTON Ceola D. Ward died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. She was 86.

Mrs. Ward was a retired school bus driver with the Hinds County School System.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alonzo and Mallah Caston; four sisters, Agatha Edwards, Atha Hampton, Johnnie Mae Dickerson and Daisy Bell Dent; and her son, Curtis Dent Jr.

She is survived by her son, Alonzo Caston of Bolton; her brother, James Caston of Jackson; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and other relatives, including Abbie Dent of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Hill of Zion M.B. Church in Bolton. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Westhaven Funeral Home of Jackson.

Visitation will be Saturday at the funeral home.

ELEASE HARVEY WILLIAMS

Services for Elease Harvey Williams will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with repast at American Legion Tyner-Ford Post 213.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Williams died Monday, Aug. 12, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 76.

Mrs. Williams was a domestic worker and cook. She was a member of Mount Zion No. 1 Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy Harvey and Alice McFarland; her husband, Paul Williams Jr.; and one son, Monroe Hunt.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Earl Fortner of Jackson and DeFrancis Harvey of Vicksburg; two daughters, Mamie Doyle of Vicksburg and Alice Dampeer of Utica; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives, including Climent McFarland of Chicago.
