Matt Kilburn is all smiles after receiving a free bouquet of red roses from Serenity Floral owner Lynn Johnston Wednesday in recognition of Good Neighbor Day. Kilburn took a break from his job to order a floral arrangement for his grandfather and was given one of the last batches out of 2,500 roses given away at the store on Washington Street. Johnston said the idea of giving away 12 roses is for the customer to keep one and give 11 away to friends and neighbors. “It gives the customer a chance to deliver flowers,” she said. “I’ve had three people hug me today; everybody just gets so excited on this day.” (The Vicksburg Post/Melanie Duncan)
