PATRICIA L. COOK
Patricia L. “Pat” Cook died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 45.
A native of Lauderdale County, Mrs. Cook had been a Vicksburg resident most of her life. She was a graduate of Greenville Christian School in Greenville. She was a longtime employee of the computer division of First National Bank of Vicksburg and was later employed with Mutual Credit Union.
She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
Mrs. Cook was preceded in death by her father, James F. Miller, and a sister, Debra Lou Hatem.
Survivors include two daughters, Carmen Cook and Courtney Cook, both of Vicksburg; her mother, Mildred Blocker of Vicksburg; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Tommy Jones, pastor of Sand Hill Baptist Church in Wiggins, and the Rev. Kent Campbell, pastor of Woodlawn Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. Friday until the service.

WILLARD HAYNES
Willard “Buddy” Haynes died Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.
A native of Dixie, Ark., Mr. Haynes had lived in Vicksburg for 35 years. He was a tankerman for Ergon Marine for 10 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luster and Lily Haynes; a son, Tony Haynes; three brothers; and three sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Haynes and Larry Haynes, both of Vicksburg, and Willard Lynn Haynes of Rockingham, N.C.; a daughter, Karen Alexander of Vicksburg; two brothers, Earl Haynes of Blytheville, Ark., and Eldon Haynes of Des Arc, Ark.; three sisters, Opal Reed and Lydia Anderson, both of Cotton Plant, Ark., and Vuna Greago of El Paso, Texas; and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be James Cardwell, Heath Haynes, Larime Haynes, George Alexander, Jerry McCormick and Milton Blair.
