MARIE KELLY BROWN

INGLEWOOD, Calif. Marie Kelly “Aunt Boy” Brown, a former resident of Anguilla and Cary, died Monday, Sept. 9, 2002, in Inglewood, Calif. She was 86.

Mrs. Brown was born in Warren County to the late Joseph Kelly Sr. and Easter Scott Kelly. She was a member of New Hope M.B. Church in Blanton until 1991, when she moved to Inglewood and became a member of First Southern Baptist Church of Gardena.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Brown; a son, Richard Mack Sr.; and a granddaughter, Sonia Mack.

Survivors include one son, Mitchell Williams of Palmdale, Calif.; two daughters, Gloria Robinson and Scherry Brown, both of Inglewood; two stepdaughters, Mable Williams and Rebecca Ross, both of Natchez; and 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were Sept. 17 at the Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary. Burial followed at Inglewood Park Cemetery.

SYBIL ERNESTINE BAILEY GRIFFIN

OAK GROVE Sybil Ernestine “Moonie” Bailey Griffin died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at West Carroll Care Center in Oak Grove. She was 89.

Mrs. Griffin was born in West Carroll Parish and was a resident of Pioneer, La. She was a member of the New Hope Church of God and worked as a bookkeeper for Redmond Mitchiner in Oak Grove for 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bess Selton Griffin; her father, Jim Bailey; her mother and stepfather, Mary Elizabeth Bailey and Herman C. Eubanks; and a brother, Melvin “Joe” Eubanks.

Survivors include a daughter, Carleen Reeves of West Monroe; a half-brother, Buford Eubanks of Darnell, La.; three half-sisters, Florence Welch of Brandon and Betty Williamson and Mildred Tullis, both of West Monroe; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Karvin Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Unity Cemetery in Pioneer.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Paul Powers, Scottie Tullis, Larry Welch, Adam Martin, David Guice, Harvey Patton and Jason Audrich.

MARY MILES

ROLLING FORK Mary Miles died Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2002, at Indianola Health Center. She was 67.

Mrs. Miles was born in Philadelphia, Miss., and was a longtime resident of Rolling Fork. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Murry E. Miles Sr.

She is survived by three sons, Jimmy C. Miles of Lucedale, Murry E. Miles Jr. of Indianola and Paul D. Miles of Morton; one brother, Bud Billings of Morton; five sisters, Wilma Pilgrim of Philadelphia, Lola Gibson of Rolling Fork, Ola Mae Holmes of Anguilla, Pat Chipmon of Ruston, La., and Jean McKee of Detroit; and nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork with the Rev. Jeff Gilder officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home in Rolling Fork.

Pallbearers will be Danny Cockrell, Bruce Horton, Jimmy Miles Jr., Wilbur Miles, Paul Miles Jr., Michael Miles, Thomas Miles and Richard Winslow.
