SALLY MAUDE WOOD COSTELLO

BASTROP, La. Sally Maude Wood Costello died Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at North Monroe Hospital. She was 80.

Mrs. Costello was born in Neshoba County and lived in Bastrop, La.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dee Doc Wood and Ida Callie Wood; her husband, Charles H. Costello; and three brothers, Cordie Wood, Quinn Wood and Troy Wood.

She is survived by two daughters, Martha Maxwell of Kilbourne, La., and Susie East of Longview, Texas; a son, Mike Costello of Bastrop; two stepsons, Ken Costello and Buddy Costello, both of Oak Grove; two brothers, Devonne Wood of Pelahatchie and Willard Wood of Beebe, Ark.; three sisters, Zell Walling and Werdna Manning, both of Monroe, and Ruth Dunn of Bastrop; and 15 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cox Chapel in Oak Grove with the Rev. Mike Howard and Eric Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Macedonia Baptist Church.

DARKES G. HARRIS

DELHI, La. Darkes G. Harris died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, in Pioneer, La. She was 78.

Mrs. Harris was born in Richland Parish and was a resident of Delhi, La.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Harris; her parents, Robert and Clara Ezell Golding; and a son, Bobby Gene Harris.

Survivors include a daughter, Connie Hendrix of Pioneer; four grandchildren, Amy Jordan of Pioneer, Kristie Carlson of Delhi and Cheryl Dupree and Kevin Harris, both of Monroe; nine great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Newton Baptist Church in Delhi. Burial will follow at Newton Cemetery in Delhi.

Visitation will be from 2 until 9 tonight at the church.

Cox Funeral Home in Delhi has charge of arrangements.

ROBERT HART

Robert Hart, formerly of Vicksburg, died Friday, Oct. 4, 2002, at Williams on Main Convalescent Home in Rockford, Ill. He was 84.

Mr. Hart was born in Vicksburg and retired from Anderson-Tully Co. after 41 years of service. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Barnes Hart; his parents, Frank and Amanda Warren Hart; and a sister, Alene Hart Wilson.

Survivors include a son, the Rev. Eugene Houston of Vicksburg; three daughters, Carmen Brinkley of Dallas, Mae Ruth Watson of Chicago and Katie Edwards of Aurora, Ill.; one sister, Ida Mae Hart Wilson of Rockford; six grandchildren; nieces and nephews, including Alfred Barnes of Vicksburg whom he reared; and other relatives and friends, including Willena Miller of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny L. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

MAMIE J. SANSON

Mamie J. Sanson died Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 89.

Mrs. Sanson was a native of Forest City, Ark., and had lived in Vicksburg most of her life. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George Sanson; a son, Albert John; and a brother, Freddie Johnson.

She is survived by a son, John Howard of Vicksburg, and a sister-in-law, Geraldine Boone of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Jim Hess officiating.
