Robert Lee Sneed died Saturday, Sept. 28, 2002, at his home in Kingston, Tenn. He was 76.
A native of Vicksburg, Mr. Sneed graduated from Mississippi State University. He served in the Navy in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He retired as a mechanical engineer after 37 years of service with Tennessee Valley Authority.
He was a member of Union Lodge No. 38 F&AM, Chapter 405 Order of the Eastern Star and St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Harriman, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Sneed; three daughters, Linda Lambert of Kingston, Barbara Clemmons of Carrollton, Ala., and Virginia Shriner of Hayes, Va.; one brother, Henry Sneed of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services were Oct. 1 at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Harriman.

JESSIE MAE THOMPSON
DELHI, La. Jessie Mae Thompson died Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2002, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi, La. She was 90.
Mrs. Thompson was born in Winnfield, Texas, and was a resident of Delhi.
Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Thompson; her parents, Jim and Vinnie Reed Jaggers; a brother, Buddy Jaggers; and a sister, Dessie Rogers.
She is survived by two sons, Bobby R. Warrington of Shreveport and Jimmie Lee Thompson of Pineville, La.; two grandchildren, Edward Ray Warrington of Orange, Texas, and Patricia Lynette Smith of Bossier City, La.; four great-grandchildren; and friends, including Fannie Foster of Delhi.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi with the Rev. Marcus Murphy officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
