SARAH RUTH MILLS TYLER

Sarah Ruth Mills Tyler died Saturday, Oct. 12, 2002, at Vicksburg Medical Center. She was 76.

Mrs. Tyler was born in Camden, Miss., and moved to Vicksburg in 1959. She was a member of First Baptist Church and a retired bookkeeper for Vicksburg Paint and Glass Co.

She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Charles M. Tyler; a daughter, Charlotte Durst; and a grandson, Michael Wilburn.

She is survived by a son, David E. Tyler of Vicksburg; and two daughters, Ruth Martin of Cordova, Tenn., and Mary Wilburn of Duluth, Ga.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. Eric Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Tuesday until the service.

GUY HOPKINS

Guy Hopkins died Sunday, Oct. 13, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 63.

Mr. Hopkins was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and a retired employee of International Paper Co. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hopkins and Lula McGuffie Hopkins; a sister, Grace Hopkins; and a brother, Ed Hopkins.

He is survived by his wife, Earline M. Hopkins of Vicksburg; a son, Patrick Lane Hopkins of Vicksburg; and a sister, Florence Madden of Pearl.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Steve Cooper, Milton Richardson, Tay Everett, Jimmy Gray, Philip “Sonny” Jones and Ray McLaurin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Ramsauer, Jerry Brown, Jimmy Westbrook, John Burton, Shelton Ezell, Parker Stevens, Sidney McGuffee and Bill McGuffee.
