WILLIAM BARNUM

ONWARD William Barnum died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 76.

Mr. Barnum was a resident of Onward.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Barnum of Onward; five sons, Donnie Ray Barnum of Chicago, Willie James Barnum of Onward, Don Earl Barnum of Cary, Larry Earl Barnum of Vicksburg and William Barnum Jr. of California; a daughter, Eloise Patricia Sylvester of Redwood; and 19 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and other relatives, including Rosie Barnum of Rolling Fork.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Fitler with Carl Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

WILLIE LEE CARLISLE

GLEN ALLAN Willie Lee Carlisle died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2002, at his home in Glen Allan. He was 55.

Mr. Carlisle is survived by his fiancee, Jeanette Richardson of Glen Allan; two sons, Kaderrick Richardson and Rodney Johnson, both of Glen Allan; three daughters, Kiaiesha Richardson, Gwendolyn Williams and Ranarda Richardson, all of Glen Allan; six brothers, Milton Carlisle, James Carlisle and Elliot Carlisle, all of Greenville, Lee Cluster Carlisle and Curtis Carlisle, both of Glen Allan, and Melvin Carlisle of Mayersville; three sisters, Roberta Willis of Greenville, Linda Green of Mayersville and Juanita White of Rolling Fork; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Glen Allan Elementary School. Burial will follow at Alps Cemetery in Glen Allan.

JAMES HERSHEL FULFORD

DELHI, La. James Hershel Fulford died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at his home. He was 66.

Mr. Fulford was a resident of Delhi and a veteran of the Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, June Fulford; his parents, Hershel Newton Fulford and Hazel Fulford; a brother, Gerald Thomas Fulford; and a sister, Betty Jean Fulford.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Shirley Fulford of West Monroe, La.; and nieces and nephews including, Debra Shelley, Marshall Farrell Shelley and Michael Shelley, all of Delhi.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Delhi Masonic Cemetery. Burial will follow.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Friday at Cox Funeral Home in Delhi.

WALTER L. REYNOLDS

Walter L. Reynolds died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.

A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Reynolds was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Force for three and a half years and worked for the Corps of Engineers, Waterways Experiment Station, for 37 years. He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Valda Reynolds; and a sister, Mary Briggs.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Piazza Reynolds; two daughters, Val R. Hosemann and Robin R. Brennan, both of Houston, Texas; a sister, Alma R. Jeter of Memphis, Tenn.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and other relatives.

BEDFORD M. SHAVER

Bedford M. Shaver died Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, at Belmont Gardens. He was 87.

Mr. Shaver was born in Panola County to the late George M. and Adelia Rutledge Shaver. He had lived in Vicksburg for 50 years and was a member of the Vicksburg Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jewell E. Timmons, and a daughter, Geneva Shaver.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Ron Stutzman of Coronado, Calif.; and a grandson, Robert Lorenz of Glendale, Calif.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home with Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Robert Lorenz, James Stevens, Dennis Timmons, Carlton Timmons, Bill Welshans and Chestley Nash.

Honorary pallbearers will be Mary Ann Jackson and Faye Judge.

EUGENE SMITH

Eugene Smith died Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 72.

A native of Gainesville, Fla., Mr. Smith was a longtime resident of Vicksburg and a retired custodian for Waterways. He was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and the Masons, Sunshine Lodge.

He is survived by Bertha Lee Russell; two children; four sisters; a brother; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and other relatives.

LEONA MAE WIGLEY

Leona Mae Wigley died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 75.

Born in Noble, Ark., Mrs. Wigley had been a resident of Vicksburg for a number of years. She was a retired waitress and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Louis Terry and Ethel Langley; a son, William C. Hedrick; and two sisters, Louise Conner and Cleo Smith.

Survivors include a son, Roger Hedrick of Vicksburg; two daughters, Angela Gray and Helen Clark, both of Vicksburg; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Antioch Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at Fisher Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tony Irwin, Ralph Allison, Calvin Hearn, Jimmy Nevels, Randy Gatchell and Rudy Andreaetta.

JOHN L. WILLIAMS

John L. Williams died Thursday, Nov. 7, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 84.

Mr. Williams was retired from the Chrysler Corporation. He was a member of Morning Star M.B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Arilla Williams; six brothers, Hardin Williams, Wallace Williams, Amos Williams, George Williams, Graham Williams and Charlie Williams Jr.; and his grandparents, Ida Bell Stewart, Lizette Walker and Rutha Mae Jefferson.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Williams of Vicksburg; one son, Benard Williams of Vicksburg; one daughter, Rutha Eastman of Vicksburg; three sisters, Jim Ella Williams and Hazel Hatchett, both of Vicksburg, and Clara Thomas of Denver; and four grandchildren.
