Jessie Bell Davis Kemp died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, in St. Paul, Minn. She was 90.

Mrs. Kemp was born in Vicksburg to Jake and Mary Davis. She moved with her husband to Cleveland, Ohio, where they farmed in the Chardon community. She worked for the Cleveland Board of Education for 25 years, spending the last 10 as a cafeteria manager. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Painesville, Ohio, before moving to Edwards in 1986.

Mrs. Kemp attended Ratliff Chapel M.B. Church before moving to Minnesota.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Leroy Percy Kemp Jr. and Linda D. Kemp of St. Paul; two sisters, Emma B. Miller of Redwood and Mary Love of Chicago; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Georgia Kemp of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

NELL VINING KENT

GREENWOOD Nell Vining Kent died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Greenwood LeFlore Hospital in Greenwood. She was 74.

A resident of Greenwood, Mrs. Kent was of the Baptist faith and retired from Baldwin Piano.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Kent.

Survivors include two daughters, Shearon Simpson of Headland, Ala., and Mikki Blue of Vicksburg; two sons, Wayne Kent of Jacksonville, Fla., and Steve Kent of Greenwood; a brother, Richard Vining of Portiville, Calif., three sisters, Ester Kent of Phillip, Miss., Fannie Carpenter of Carrollton, Miss., and Sissy Mercer of Tampa, Fla.; 11 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m today at White Church Cemetery in Carroll County with the Rev. Eddie Carpenter officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood.

JIMMY LEE REDMON

HOLLANDALE, Miss. Jimmy Lee Redmon died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at his home in Hollandale, Miss. He was 45.

Survivors include his wife, Cardara Redmon of Metcalf, Miss.; four daughters, Tonid Brown and Nikki Redmon, both of Greenville, and Sherri Robinson and Terri Robinson, both of Metcalfe; six brothers, Archie Redmon and Johnell Redmon, both of Greenville, Roosevelt Redmon of Anguilla, Elbert Redmon II of Phillip, Miss., K.C. Redmon of Hollandale, and Tommie Lee Redmon of Chicago; a sister, Dorothy Redmon of Hollandale; a grandchild; and cousins, including the Flanagin family.

Services will be at noon Saturday at Mount Horob M.B. Church in Hollandale with the Rev. C.D. Jordon officiating. Burial will follow at Caney Cemetery in Delta City.

ALYNE ODUM SEARS

FLORENCE Alyne Odum Sears died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at Briar Hill Nursing Home. She was 83.

Ms. Sears was a resident of Florence.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Frank Sears of Brandon and Lonnie Thomas Sears of Crystal Springs; six daughters, Freida Shack of Florence, Gwendolyn Smith of Jay, Fla., Charlotte Cox of Montgomery, Ala., Sheila Jackson of Brandon, Nellwyn Kavanaugh of Vicksburg and Ramona Norris of Houston; a brother, Thomas David Odum of Kilgore, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Home in Pearl.

Memorials may be made to a favorite church.
