PERRY BROOKS ADEN

ROLLING FORK Perry Brooks Aden died Wednesday, Nov. 13, 2002, at his home in Rolling Fork. He was 83.

Mr. Aden was retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Vicksburg District and a member of First Baptist Church in Rolling Fork.

Survivors include his wife, Jim Ella Wells Aden of Rolling Fork; a brother, Robert Aden of Huntsville, Ala.; and two sisters, Mary Alice Dees of Clinton and June Rials of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Rolling Fork under the direction of the Revs. Reese Kyzar and Millard Caulder. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.

BERTHA ELMORE

Bertha Elmore died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 63.

A resident of Vicksburg, Ms. Elmore was a member of New Zion M.B. Church and worked at Shady Lawn Nursing Home.

She was preceded in death by her father, George Elmore; and four brothers, Paul Elmore, Willard Elmore, Henry Wright and James Elmore.

Survivors include four sons, Howard Elmore of Jackson, Randy Elmore of Vicksburg and Rowan Elmore and Paul Elmore, both of Killeen, Texas; three daughters, Marilyn Ellis, Joyce Johnson and Yvonne Elmore, all of Vicksburg; her mother, Ethel Elmore of Vicksburg; three sisters, Gwendolyn Carter of Chicago, and Mary Elmore and Alma Parson, both of Vicksburg; nine grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

ADA GAINES

Ada “L” Gaines died Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 72.

Mrs. Gaines lived in Vicksburg and was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Preston Gaines Sr.; a son, J.C. Gaines; her parents, Sim and Bessie Putman; seven sisters, Alberta Ballard, Bertha Lewis, Mublee Atkins, Marie Maxwell, Mattie Shuler, Annie Mae McGee and Josephine Brown; and a brother, Fred Putman.

Survivors include five sons, Serboya Delotta of Greenville and Charles James Scott, Preston Gaines Jr., J.D. Gaines and T.J. Gaines, all of Vicksburg; four daughters, Marsha Powell and Daisy James, both of Vicksburg, Rosetta Royster of Memphis and Ella Mae Kline of Germantown, Md.; a sister, Clottie Allison of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces, including Lucinda Williams of Vicksburg and other relatives.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Lester Lacey officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

GEORGIA HALL

Services for Georgia Hall will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Williams Funeral Service.

Mrs. Hall died Tuesday, Nov. 12, 2002, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 47.

A domestic worker, she was a member of the Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Clark; a sister, Bessie M. Whitaker; and two brothers, Redell Benard and Calvin Benard.

Survivors include her husband, Floyd Hall Jr. of Vicksburg; two sons, Albert Howard Jr. and Derrick Howard, both of Vicksburg; a daughter, Erica L. Howard-Judge of Atlanta; two stepdaughters, Gail Hall of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Renee Jordan of Rochester, N.Y.; two stepsons, Carl Hall of Syracuse, N.Y., and Phil Hall of Jacksonville, Fla.; her mother, Georgia M. Benard of Vicksburg; 14 brothers, Bennie Edmond, Charles Watson, Jessie Benard, Mose Benard, Carl Benard, Andrew Benard, George Benard, Alonzo Austin, Fred Clark and Austin Buster Clark, all of Vicksburg, Aaron Benard of Aurora, Ill., Roosevelt Benard of Plano, Texas, Joseph Benard of San Antonio and Henry Clark of Memphis; 10 sisters, Diane Smith, Shirley Clark, Thelma Caruthers, Leaverne Brent, Nancy Austin, Rebecca Tribble and Lillie Bell Benard, all of Vicksburg, Lenora Pendleton and Eliza Bentivengo, both of Aurora, and Gwen Caruthers; four grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
