One week after being blown out by 23, the Vicksburg Missy Gators (3-2) played Provine to the wire Thursday night, only to come up short, 55-51.

Tiffany Hubbard scored a team-high 17 points and Arcola Scott added 11.

“We showed a lot of character because I thought it could easily have gotten out of hand,” said Vicksburg coach Mike Coleman, whose team fell behind 23-9 at the end of the first quarter.
