EDWARDS Joseph Beaty died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Detroit. He was 89.

Mr. Beaty, formerly of Edwards, was a Detroit resident.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Bar Ridge Cemetery in Edwards. Burial followed under the direction of Lakeview Funeral Home of Vicksburg.

ODESSA ROBINSON JOHNSON

DELHI, La. Odessa Robinson Johnson died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Richland Parish Hospital in Delhi, La. She was 88.

Mrs. Johnson lived in Delhi.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Nathan Robinson and Joe Johnson; two sons, Dennis Robinson and David Robinson; three sisters, Edna Nash, Katie Rester and Henrietta Carpenter; a brother, Dennis Ray Tucker; and two grandchildren, Trissie Pickett and Michael Robinson.

Survivors include a son, Donald Robinson of Vicksburg; two daughters, DeEtte Copes and Delores Tharpe, both of Delhi; a brother, James Tucker of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Ruthie Fuller of Dunn, La., and Adell Black of Rayville, La.; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cox Funeral Chapel in Delhi with the Revs. Eddie Fuller and Marcus Murphey officiating. Burial will follow at Delhi Masonic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the home of Lonnie and DeEtte Copes, 271 Highway 855 in Delhi.

ELIZABETH M. LARR

Elizabeth M. “Bessie” Larr died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002. She was 79.

Mrs. Larr was the daughter of Rosangela Marsicano Maggio and Joseph V. Maggio. She retired in 1980 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Waterways Experiment Station. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and the Altar Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Birchett Larr Jr.

Survivors include two daughters, Debra Ann Warmenhoven of Kettle Falls, Wash., and Lisa L. McCollum of Vicksburg; one son, David B. Larr III of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Mary Edwards of Vicksburg; and nine grandchildren.

A Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Thomas McGing officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Riles Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home with Rosary at 6:30.

Pallbearers will be Greg Russell, David Derrick, Joe Bonelli, Chris Wells, Tully Hall, Paul Banchetti, Kimble Slayton, Ricky Cockrell, Donnie Gordon and Mark Jourdan.

CLAUDINE WINSLOW NELSON

Claudine Winslow Nelson died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002, at Heritage House Nursing Center. She was 97.

A native of Belzoni, Mrs. Nelson was a resident of Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Nelson Jr.; a daughter, Rosalie Nelson Knox; and a sister, Luzelle Winslow Lynch.

Survivors include a daughter, Gloria Nelson Darden of Dary, Miss.; and five grandchildren, including Lee Darden Johnson of Vicksburg.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Belzoni City Cemetery with the Revs. Erica Pridmore and Lisa Pridmore officiating. Burial follow ed under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni.

WILLA A. ROBERTSON

Willa A. “Big MaMa” Robertson died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at Belmont Garden Apartments. She was 84.

Mrs. Robertson lived in Greenwood for more than 50 years before moving to Vicksburg five years ago. She was a secretary and owned with her husband Robinson Furniture Store in Greenwood for many years. She was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delma E. “Big Daddy” Robertson; her parents, John Duff and Rena Mae McGregor Austin; and a brother, Robert M. “Bob” Austin.

Survivors include a daughter, Linda R. Halford of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Stanley D. Bloodworth Jr. and Brooke B. Lampkin, both of Vicksburg; a great-grandson; and a niece and nephew.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fisher Funeral Home with Cecil Cost officiating. Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Wednesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Lawrence “Buster” McLemore, Randy Lampkin, Bill Halford, Jimmy Halford and Mark Gravens.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harper Johnson, Don Austin, Johnny McLemore and Charles Goga.
