LEOLA HILTON COHRON

UTICA Leola Hilton Cohron died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.

A resident of Utica, Mrs. Cohron was a member of Utica Baptist Church and a homemaker.

Survivors include her husband, Adrian Cohron of Utica; a son, John Hines of Yazoo City; a daughter, Pat Neill of Utica; a stepdaughter, Roxie Cohron of Redondo Beach, Calif.; a brother, Howard Hilton of Alexandria, Va.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Utica Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Carpenter Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Utica.

Pallbearers will be John Fouche, Allen Pickens, Sean Smith, Wayne Hines, Wendell Thomas and Ronnie Hynum.

CLEO CARSON EATMON

UTICA Services for Cleo Carson “Honey” Eatmon will be at 11 a.m. Sunday at Belmont M.B. Church in Utica with the Rev. Phillip Burks officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be all day Saturday at Robbins Funeral Home Chapel and from 10 a.m. until the service Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Eatmon died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 90.

She was a lifelong resident of Utica and a member of Belmont M.B. Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Eatmon; five sons; four sisters; and five brothers.

Survivors include six daughters, Maggie Dell Cook of Edwards, Wilena Carson Huband, Zeanette Eatmon, Mae Francis Eatmon Brown and Mary Louise Eatmon, all of Vicksburg, and Jeanette Eatmon Kelly of Euless, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

MATTIE LEE HOWE

Mattie Lee Howe died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. She was 92.

Born in Pine Bluff, Ark., Ms. Howe lived in Vicksburg. She was a professional dancer on Broadway in the 1920s, a member of Porters Chapel United Methodist Church and a member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include a cousin, Robert Kennedy of Ocala, Fla.; a niece, Betty Bowers of Kingsport, Tenn.; and two nephews, Buford Evans of Vicksburg and Mike Evans of Marianna, Fla.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Green Acres Memorial Park with the Rev. Jim Biedenharn officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Vicksburg-Warren Humane Society or Animal Rescue League.

NANCY JANE LENORE PULLIN

OAK GROVE Nancy Jane Lenore Pullin died Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2002, at Carroll Nursing Home in Oak Grove, La. She was 75.

Mrs. Pullin was a resident of Oak Grove.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jessie Lloyd Pullin and Bruce Edward Pullin; and her parents, Silas Moore Wiley and Suzanne Wiley.

Survivors include two sons, Tommy Pullin of Kilbourne, La., and Stanley Pullin of Delhi, La.; four daughters, Linda West and Neoma Hill, both of Oak Grove, Susan Morgan of Jacksonville, Fla., and Lynda Thiels of Alexandria, La.; a brother, Silas M. Wiley of Anchorage, Ala.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Services were at 10 a.m. today at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with Truman Smith officiating. Burial followed at Kilbourne Cemetery in Kilbourne, La.

Pallbearers were Jeff Theils, Jerrad West, Mitch Reppond, Kevin Hill, Melvin Warren and Eric Stephens.

WILLIE R. THORNTON

Willie R. Thornton died Thursday, Nov. 28, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 80.

Born in Claiborne County, Mr. Thornton had lived in Vicksburg for 60 years. A lumber inspector, he was formerly employed at Anderson-Tully Co. and retired from Pickins Lumber Co.

He was a member of Vicksburg Church of Christ, where he was a deacon and Sunday school teacher. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in World War II with the 81st Wildcat Division.

Mr. Thornton is survived by his wife, Gladys K. Thornton of Vicksburg; one daughter, Martha Kinnebrew of Vicksburg; two sons, Willie Scott Thornton and Billy Ray Thornton, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Sybil Ann Sturdivant of West Monroe, La.; and seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Vicksburg Church of Christ with Reggie Crawford officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon Saturday until the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Blake Thornton, Shane Quimby, J.R. Robinson, Bendel White, Jerry Ashley, James Knight, Mack Knight and Anthony Hearn.

Honorary pallbearers will be elders and deacons of Vicksburg Church of Christ.
