Services for Nelson “Poochie” Anderson will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Zion Travelers M.B. Church. Burial will follow at New Hope M.B. Church Cemetery in Bovina.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service at the church.

Mr. Anderson died Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2002, at his home. He was 46.

Mr. Anderson was an EVS lead supervisor at Ameristar Casino. A graduate of Vicksburg High School, he was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Coreain Anderson; his father, Lell Anderson Sr.; and three brothers, Tommy Curtis, Oscar Anderson and Lell Anderson Jr.

He is survived by one son, Jerome Anderson of Washington, D.C.; three sisters, Sammie Boyd and Mary A. Jackson, both of Vicksburg, and Estella Louise Grauex of Baytown, Texas; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, including Dorothy N. Owens of Vicksburg.

Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

MARVIN BARKER

Marvin Barker died Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2002, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. He was 88.

Born in Copiah County, Mr. Barker had lived in Vicksburg for the past 80 years. He was a retired maintenance man and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Vera Barker; a sister, Janie Fuller; a brother, Gene Barker; and a granddaughter, Denise Brent.

Survivors include two sons, Joseph Barker of Decatur, Ga., and David Brent of Luling, Texas; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Rev. Roger Cresswell officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be James “Bud” Shiers, A.J. Wilds, Otto Moore, Robert “Sonny” Mathes, Mike Allen and Jay Tidwell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Richard Beasley, Roy Stubbs, Ralph Hamblett and Walter May.

WILLIE JULIUS BOLDEN SR.

ANGUILLA Willie Julius Bolden Sr. died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, at Sharkey Issaquena Hospital in Rolling Fork. He was 60.

A resident of Anguilla, Mr. Bolden worked for Ewing Farms.

Survivors include his wife, Florine Bolden of Anguilla; four sons, Kenneth Bolden, Willie Bolden Jr. and Thomas Bolden, all of Anguilla and Jeffery Bolden of Rolling Fork; three daughters, Gardenia Thomas of Anguilla, Nadine Bolden of Portland, Ore., and Lakeshia Chaney of Nitta Yuma, Miss.; a brother, Robert Bolden of Los Angeles; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christian Light M.B. Church in Anguilla with R.C. Addison officiating. Burial will follow at Cynthia Dana Cemetery under the direction of Walker Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight in the Adele Walker Memorial Chapel at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the church.

EMILY HOLLOWELL

NATCHEZ Emily Hollowell died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002, in Joshua Tree, Calif. She was 19.

A resident of Natchez, Miss Hollowell was a member of St. Mary Basilica. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School in Natchez and was attending Hinds Community College in Raymond.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James F. Hollowell.

Survivors include her parents, David Ray and Ann Liddell Marlow Hollowell of Natchez; maternal grandparents, Orvis and Inez Marlow of Natchez; paternal grandmother, Martha Tucker Hollowell of Vicksburg; paternal great-grandparents, Susan and Ray Sasser of Vicksburg; and aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Basilica in Natchez with the Rev. Alfred Camp and the Rev. David O’Connor officiating. Burial will follow at Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the church with a Rosary service at 7.

Pallbearers will be James Brown, Scott McLemore, Jim Sandel, Ben Bassi, Mark Steckler and Andrew Hollowell.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Phillip Scurria, Dr. Thomas Carey and Dr. Frank Guedon.
