VIVIAN L. BEARD
Vivian L. Beard died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. She was 56.
A native of McComb, Mrs. Beard was a longtime Vicksburg resident and had lived in Pensacola for the past six years. She had served as a deputy with the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in 1987.
She was a former member of Highland Baptist Church in Vicksburg and was a member of Pine Summit Baptist Church of Pensacola.
Survivors include her husband, Thomas M. Beard Jr. of Pensacola; her mother, Inez O’Quin of Pensacola.; a daughter, Selenia Morgan of Pensacola; two sons, Keith Carrico of Hattiesburg and Kevin Beard of Los Angeles; six grandsons; and other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Al Bettencourt, Gene Abbot, Scott Skipper, Mike Ouzts, Sherwood Lyons, Travis T. Vance Jr., Paul Barrett and Martin Pace.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Warren County Sheriff’s Department and Vicksburg Fire Department.

FANNIE PEACHES JOHNSON
Fannie Peaches Johnson died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. She was 89.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Johnson was a retired beautician and a member of the choir at Rose Hill No. 1 M.B. Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Johnson; a daughter, Ruby Newman; her parents, Will and Angel Peaches; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Annie Mae Moore of Oakland, Calif.; three nieces, Mello Wilson and Shirley Peaches, both of Vicksburg, and Felecia Wilson of Seattle, Wash.; a nephew, Richard Peaches of Natchez; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives including the Strong family of Racine, Wis., the Tanner family of Saginaw, Mich., and the Jones, Thomas, Davis and Grey families, all of Vicksburg.
ALFRED H. JOSEPH
Services for Alfred H. “Red” Joseph will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Mitchell Hedgepeth and Bill Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Memorial Park.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 until 7 tonight and from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the service.
Mr. Joseph died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at River Region Medical Center. He was 77.
Mr. Joseph was born in Crosby and had lived in Vicksburg since 1951. He was a retired civil engineer at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Waterways Experiment Station.
He was a graduate of Louisiana State University and a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps. He was a charter member of Hawkins United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred D. and Nettie Mae Joseph; and two brothers, Jewel Joseph and Roy Joseph.
He is survived by his wife, Ann C. Joseph of Vicksburg; two sons, Dennis M. Joseph of Vicksburg and Richard D. Joseph of Jackson; one daughter, Linda Joseph Alford of West Monroe, La.; one sister, Gwen Putnam of Birmingham, Ala.; three brothers, Robert S. Joseph of Natchez, Don P. Joseph of Vidalia, La., and Sidney Carl Joseph of Ethel, La.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Robert Joseph, Warren Joseph, Tom Joseph, Steve Sullivan, Jeff Joseph and Al Kreppein.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Crusaders Sunday School Class of Hawkins United Methodist Church and the Jones Hunting Club in Crosby, Dr. Paul Pierce, Oren Bailess, Faye Lancaster and Bill Fought.
Memorials may be made to the building fund of Hawkins United Methodist Church, 3736 Halls Ferry Road, or the Methodist Children’s Home, 7578 Old Canton Road, Madison, MS 39110.
KIRK ROMINE MORLEY
TALLULAH Kirk Romine Morley died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at his home in Tallulah. He was 83.
Born in McGehee, Ark., Mr. Morley had lived in Tallulah for over 40 years. He was a real estate broker and appraiser. He was an Army veteran serving during World War II, a past senior warden of Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah and a former president of the Tallulah Rotary Club. He was active in Alcoholics Anonymous and was a member of the Madison Historical Society.
Survivors include his wife, Berkeley S. Morley of Tallulah; a son, Kirk S. Morley of Tallulah; a daughter, Meta B. Morley of Vicksburg; a sister, Florence Williams of Richmond, Va.; and nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Episcopal Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Bill Echols officiating.
