GENEVA T. PIGG

ROLLING FORK Geneva T. Pigg died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Lincoln Plaza Nursing Center in Austin, Ark. She was 79.

A former resident of Sharkey County, Mrs. Pigg had lived in Austin for the past several years. She was a homemaker and a member of the Rolling Fork Church of God of Prophecy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Pigg; and a daughter, Johnnie Lynn Graves.

Survivors include a son, Vernon Pigg of Quitman, Miss.; three daughters, Alice Herbert of Miami, Fla., Ann Woods of Delta City, Miss., and Jodie Tice of Austin, Ark.; two brothers, Thomas Tucker of Saraland, Ala., and Morris Tucker of Citronelle, Ala.; two sisters, Helen Medford of Greenville, Miss., and Annie Bell Villari of Saraland; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Son Flower Church in Rolling Fork with Joel Hill officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork and from 1 until the service Tuesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Sam Woods, Mike Green, Paul Pigg, Roy Green, Eric Alexander and Tracey Tice.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joey Pigg, Robbie Pigg and Shawn Pigg.

ROBERT M. SMITH

DETROIT Robert M. “Preacher” or “Reb” Smith died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, in Detroit. He was 69.

A resident of Detroit, Mr. Smith was a former resident of Vicksburg. He was a former employee for Red Ball Trucking Company in Vicksburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Mamie Young Smith.

Survivors include three sons, Robert M. Smith Jr. of Killeen, Texas, Larry Smith of Tampa Fla., and Clearance Charles Smith of Fayetteville, N.C.; four daughters, Barbara Smith of Detroit, Sandra Michelle Clyde of Shreveport, La., Tina Smith of Vicksburg and Dorothy Hall of Kountze, Texas; two brothers, C.J. Smith of New York and Albert Smith Jr. of Saginaw, Mich.; four sisters, Ruthie Lee Williams and Birdie “Sophie” Brown, both of Vicksburg, Tellzenia Sanders of Santa Maria, Calif., and Johnnie Mae Smith of Detroit; nine grandchildren; nieces, nephews, friends and relatives including the Patterson and Young families of Vicksburg.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Christland M.B. Church in Detroit. Burial will follow at Detroit Memorial Park-West in Redford, Mich., under the direction of O.H. Pye III Funeral Home.
