Joyce Borum sings songs about the Mississippi River as entertainment during the third mural unveiling on the floodwall at City Front Wednesday. Looking on, from left, are Willie Nettle, Mayor Laurence Leyens, Lt. Col. James Langan, muralist Robert Dafford, historian Nancy Bell and Calsonic Kansei Mississippi representative Bob Croisdale. The mural, sponsored by Calsonic Kansei Mississippi for $15,000, depicts a typical scene on Washington Street in the early 1900s looking north from South Street. The fourth mural, depicting scenes from Vicksburg’s early founding in 1825, is set for completion by early next week. Caldwell said there are 11 blank panels on the floodwall waiting for sponsors.
