MEMPHIS Services for Kevin M. “DaQuad” Barnette will be at 1 p.m. today at Forest Hill South Chapel in Memphis. Burial will follow at Forest Hill South Cemetery.

Mr. Barnette, a former resident of Vicksburg, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis. He was 30.

He was a resident of Southaven and was a member of the Harley-Davidson Owner’s Group and Christian Motorcycle Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bobby and Janey Barnette of Vicksburg.

He is survived by his brother, Kerry Barnette of Vicksburg; his half-sister, Debbie Martin of Jacksonville, Fla.; his stepmother, Teresa Barnette of Southaven; two stepbrothers, Sgt. Shane Luker of Alaska and Ron Luker of Jackson; his grandmothers, Geneva Garner of Bolton and Gladys Barnette of Vicksburg; and Danielle Smith of Southaven and Melissa Rushing of Horn Lake.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.

ALBERT KINNEY

OAK GROVE Albert Kinney died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, La. He was 83.

Mr. Kinney was a resident of Oak Grove.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Mae Kinney; a daughter, Patty Sue Kinney Smith; and his parents, Joe and Hattie Elizabeth Kinney.

Survivors include two sons, Billy Kinney of Oak Grove and Joe Kinney of Hobbs, N.M.; a daughter, Sylvia Canada of Oak Grove; three sisters, Ovie Kinney Rouse of Oak Grove, Ollie Belle Prisock and Nettie Connell, both of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Clifton Kinney of Oak Grove; 12 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Hill Baptist Church in Oak Grove with the Rev. Leslie Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Oak Grove under the direction of Cox Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 until the service Wednesday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Danny Lovell, Peter Cedatol, Ronald Bowman, Tony Bowman, Eddie Russell, Steve Kinney and Joe Lee Kinney.

Honorary pallbearers will be the deacons of Hill Baptist Church.

CARY BOYCE MILLER

TALLULAH Cary Boyce Miller died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002, at Olive Branch Nursing Home. He was 90.

Born in Hamburg, Ark., Mr. Miller and his family moved to Monette, Ark., in a covered wagon when he was 12 years old. He was a farmer in Caraway, Ark. He moved to Louisiana in 1968 and was a member of the Church of Tallulah.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Miller Gregory.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Adams Miller of Transylvania, La.; a son and daughter-in-law, C.B. “Sonny” and Mildred Miller of Transylvania; a son-in-law, Gene Gregory of Tallulah; nine grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and eight great-grandchildren.

Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
