DOROTHY LEE HEIGLE
MAYERSVILLE Dorothy Lee Heigle died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 84.
Mrs. Heigle was a native of Bernie, Mo., and had lived in Mayersville for 41 years. She was a homemaker and member of Rolling Fork Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband, L.M. Heigle.
She is survived by two sons, Roger L. Heigle and Robert L. Heigle, both of Mayersville; four daughters, Brenda J. Cox of Mayersville, Teresa H. Showacre of Lafayette, La., Katherene Debusk of Little Rock, Ark., and Margaret Bartlett of Atkins, Ark.; and 14 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Rolling Fork Church of Christ. Burial followed at County Line Cemetery in Glen Allan under the direction of Glenwood Funeral Home in Rolling Fork.
Pallbearers were Dale Heigle, Ricky Cox, Keith Heigle, Brad Heigle, B.J. Durst and Blake Moon.
Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Dan Jackson, Fred Miller, Bob Bryant, W.C. Cox and Bubba Lawler.
Memorials may be made to the Rolling Fork Church of Christ.
DELORIS P. JACKS
FORREST CITY, Ark. Deloris P. Jacks died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2002, at her home in Forrest City, Ark. She was 78.
A lifelong resident of Forrest City, she was the daughter of the late Alpheus Peeples and Octie Perkins Peeples.
She is survived by 12 children, including Deloris Inmon of Vicksburg; and other relatives.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in Forrest City with Lloyd Inmon, Mrs. Jackson’s son-in-law of Bethel Church of God in Christ in Edwards, officiating. Burial will follow at Casteel Cemetery under the direction of Woodhouse Mortuary of Forrest City.
LUKE JAMES LEE SR.
Luke James Lee Sr. died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at his home. He was 77.
Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Lee lived in Peoria, Ill., for 25 years before returning to Vicksburg. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II.
Survivors include a son, Luke James Lee Jr. of Vicksburg; six daughters, Evelene Gray of Vicksburg, Hannah Jean Brown, Linda Kay Brown, Catriss Hobson and Monica Brown, all of Peoria, and Janice Marie Brown of Chicago; three brothers, Mack Albert and Tommy Albert, both of Vicksburg, and Eugene Albert of Buffalo, N.Y.; four sisters, Queen Ester Shaw, Sammie Lee Jones, Betty Jean Carter and Gracie Albert, all of Vicksburg; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
JOSEPH E. PERKINS SR.
Services for Joseph E. Perkins Sr. will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Heroden Baptist Church with the Rev. Louis A. Hall officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 6 today at Williams Funeral Service.
Mr. Perkins died Saturday, Dec. 21, 2002, in Southfield, Mich. He was 89.
Mr. Perkins retired from Valley Mill as a truck driver and was a member of Christ of Mount Heroden Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Nell Perkins; his parents, Horace Perkins and Ellen Carr Perkins; and a son, Joseph E. Perkins Jr.
Survivors include six granddaughters, Pamela Perkins Smith of Southfield, Jacquelyn Perkins and Michelle Howard, both of Chicago, Sheryl Perkins and Kimberly Perkins Heywood, both of Bronx, N.Y., and Crystal Perkins of Ravena, N.Y.; two grandsons, Henry Perkins of Livonia, Mich., and Marshal Brown of Chicago; great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends, including Dr. Oddessa Reed of Port Gibson, Betty Napoleon of Vicksburg and members of the Davis, Dorsey, Redmond and Smith families.
ANTOINE DEVONE PLUMP
Antoine Devone Plump died Monday, Dec. 23, 2002, in Atlanta, Ga. He was 31.
A resident of Atlanta, Mr. Plump was employed by Delta Airlines. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Vicksburg.
Survivors include his father, Archie Plump of Vicksburg; his mother, Dorothy Fair; a daughter; two sisters; and a brother.
