Bryan S. Cook

UTICA Bryan S. Cook died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg. He was 87.

Mr. Cook was born in Star and lived in Vicksburg for 25 years. He has lived in Utica for 13 years. He was a retired machinist at R.G. LeTourneau Company. He was a member of the Scottish Rites and Woodlawn Baptist Church where he was an ordained deacon.

Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his parents Tom and Lillie Cook; three brothers, John Cook, Sherwood Cook and J.H. Cook.

Survivors include his wife, Jane D. Cook of Utica; one son, Joe Cook of Vicksburg; one daughter, Carolyn Rose Chaney-Coale of Amory; two sisters, Olive Sparkman of Zachary, La., and Betty Crum of Beaumont, Texas; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be members of the Hyland Masonic Lodge. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Saints of Woodlawn Baptist Church and the Adult 5 Sunday school class.

Visitation is 2-5 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Services are 10 a.m. Monday at Glenwood with the Revs. Kent Campbell, Gerald Crum and Andrew Cook officiating. Burial will be at Green Acres Memorial Park in Vicksburg.

Agnes Logue Harper

Agnes Logue Harper died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Mrs. Harper was a retired accountant and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she taught the 4-year-old Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Harper; her parents, Archie O. and Mary Kleinman Logue; one son, Jack Harper Jr.; one sister, Valeria Paxton; six brothers, Archie O. Logue Jr., Hicks Logue, Dorsey Logue, William A. Logue, Otto Logue Sr., and F.M. Logue.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lynd Harper Davis of Shreveport, La.; two sons, Ken Harper and Riley Harper of Vicksburg; five sisters, Virginia L. Hoxie of Brandon, Helen L. Alford and Doris Hosemann, both of Vicksburg, Mary L. Knox of Scooba, and Jeanette L. Noble of Clinton.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Halford, Phil Solomon, George Flaggs Jr., Dr. Lee Giffin, David Hosemann, Jack C. Harper, Roc Severtson and Russ Donald.

Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. today at Riles Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Riles Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Dunaway, Kent Campbell and Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
