Max Paul Eason died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home. He was 60.

Born in Smith County, Mr. Eason had lived in Vicksburg for 12 years. He retired from Irby Electric Co. and was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church in Mize.

He was preceded in death by a son, Max Paul Eason Jr.

He is survived by three daughters, Suzie Eason of Raleigh and Monica Eason and Jessie Eason, both of Prentiss; and two sisters, Mary Eason Hughes of Vicksburg and Shirley Eason Shone of Zachary, La.

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Magee.

Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.

Agnes Logue Harper

Services for Agnes Logue Harper will be at 2 p.m. today at Riles Funeral Home with the Revs. Sam Dunaway, Kent Campbell and Carl Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Harper died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 79.

Mrs. Harper was a retired accountant and a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church where she taught the 4-year-old Sunday school class.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack P. Harper; her parents, Archie O. and Mary Kleinman Logue; one son, Jack Harper Jr.; one sister, Valeria Paxton; six brothers, Archie O. Logue Jr., Hicks Logue, Dorsey Logue, William A. Logue, Otto Logue Sr., and F.M. Logue.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Lynd Harper Davis of Shreveport; two sons, Ken Harper and Riley Harper, both of Vicksburg; five sisters, Virginia L. Hoxie of Brandon, Helen L. Alford and Doris Hosemann, both of Vicksburg, Mary L. Knox of Scooba and Jeanette L. Noble of Clinton; and six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Halford, Phil Solomon, George Flaggs Jr., Dr. Lee Giffin, David Hosemann, Jack C. Harper, Roc Severtson and Russ Donald.

Jewel J. McNair

RAYMOND Jewel J. McNair died Friday, Jan. 10, 2003, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson. She was 87.

A resident of Raymond, Mrs. McNair was a graduate of Hillman College in Clinton. She was a retired public servant.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Clark McNair.

Survivors include two sons, Clark McNair of Vicksburg and John McNair of Clinton; two daughters, Jewel Carter and Peggy McKay, both of Pelahatchie; two sisters, Audrey Howell and Effie Timbes; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were at 11 a.m. today at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home in Raymond. Burial followed at Lebanon Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Utica.

James Eugene Neuroth Sr.

SHREVEPORT James Eugene Neuroth died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at his home in Shreveport. He was 73.

Mr. Neuroth was a retired truck driver for Gulf Oil Company and Wheeling Pipe Line. He was employed by Querbes Golf Course in Shreveport for 11 years. He was an Army veteran who served in World War II and was of the Catholic faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Tryon.

Survivors include four sons, James Neuroth Jr. and Bruce Darryl Neuroth, both of Shreveport, Thomas Wayne Neuroth of Simsboro, La., and Kenneth Allen of Arcadia, La.; a daughter, Alice N. Clary of Kilgore, Texas; four brothers, Wayne Neuroth of St. Joseph, Mike Tryon of Swartz, La., Gary Tryon of Conroe, Texas, and Frank Tryon of McKinnie, Texas; two sisters, Eva Reynolds and Kathleen Mills, both of Tallulah; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church in Tallulah with the Rev. Ferreolus D’Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Reynolds, David Neuroth, Mike Mills, Lemar Bullard, Pat Bullard, Vince Corulla, Ralph Reed, Carl Kowitz, Bill Kennedy and Jimmy Kowitz.

Ruth Scott Shelton

MARKS Ruth Scott Shelton died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2003, at Trace Haven Nursing Home. She was 89.

Mrs. Shelton was a former resident of Marks and Indianola. She was a member of the Marks and Indianola garden clubs and the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was born in Eupora to Thaddeus William Scott and Frances Licinda Willingham Scott.

A retired florist, she graduated from Mississippi State College for Women and was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include a daughter, Cindy Shelton Windham of Vicksburg; two sons, Thomas E. Shelton of Jackson and Vernon Shelton of Oxford; two sisters, Rebecca Shuttleworth of Bethesda, Md., and Mary Frances Sledge of Palm Desert, Calif.; one brother, Vernon Scott of San Antonio, Texas; and six grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Kimbro Funeral Home in Marks with the Rev. Laurie Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Lambert Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or to a favorite charity.
