Willie Daisy Bland
Willie Daisy Bland died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 89.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Bland was a homemaker. She was a member of the Adult Choir at Triumph M.B. Church, the Willing Worker’s Club and the Cool Spring Burial Society.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ollie Bland; her parents, Archie Jones Sr. and Clara Sanders; three brothers, Archie Jones Jr., Jerry Jones and Isaac Jones; and two sisters, Melva Gatewood and Mary Jones.
Survivors include two sons, Willie L. Bland and Curtis B. Bland, both of Vicksburg; four daughters, Ollye Johnson, Jeanette Patterson and Tempie Bland, all of Vicksburg, and Bertha Olliver of South Haven, Miss.; two brothers, Woodrow Jones of Jackson and Eddie P. Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; a sister, Alma Jackson of Chicago; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Genena Grafton Bonney
JACKSON Genena Grafton Bonney died Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Highland Home in Ridgeland. She was 85.
Born in Jones County, Mrs. Bonney had lived in Jackson since 1955. She was a graduate of Jones Junior College and a dental assistant. She was a homemaker, a Cub Scout leader and a PTA officer. She was a longtime communicant of of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer G. Bonney.
Survivors include four sons, James Bonney of Carthage, Joseph Bonney of Cranford, N.J., Charles Bonney of Kenosha, Wis., and Richard Bonney of Jackson; two daughters, Margaret Bonney Hicks of Vicksburg and Mary Ellen Bonney Castles of Houston, Texas; a brother, Lt. Col. Harry Grafton of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a sister, Ruth Manguno of Hattiesburg; 17 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Richard’s Catholic Church. Burial followed at Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson.
Opal Bates Cagnolatti
TALLULAH Opal Bates Cagnolatti died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Olive Branch Nursing Home. She was 80.
Born in Bogalusa, La., Ms. Cagnolatti had lived in Tallulah for 60 years. She was a retired secretary for the Madison Parish School Board, a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include two sons, Malcolm A. Cagnolatti and David W. Cagnolatti, both of Tallulah; a sister, Sarah Wright of Dundee, Miss.; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Edward’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Ferreolus D’Cruz officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at the funeral home. A Rosary will follow.
Pallbearers will be Walter Scott, Joe K. Scott, Glenn Gimbellot, Michael Lancaster, Gerald Tonore and Bobby Tonore.
Honorary pallbearers will be Edgar Lancaster Jr., Collins Thomas, Salo Abrahm Jr. and Robert “Racer” Holstead.
John A. Collins Sr.
John A. Collins Sr. died Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 93.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Collins was retired from Kings Stave Mill. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Adline Ford Collins; his father, Robert Collins; his mother; three sons, John A. Collins Jr., Robert Lee Collins and Archie Lee Collins; and two brothers, Ernest Collins and Richard Collins.
Survivors include three sons, Andrew Lee Collins of Bakerfield, Calif., Larry Collins of Vicksburg and Tesvester Day of Wisconsin; four daughters, Mary L. Hall of Thomasburg, Ill., Annie Lee Collins of Los Angeles, Helen Brown of Jackson and Eddie Ruth Collins of Canton; a sister, Martha Ward of Aberdeen; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Cecil F. Robbins
RAYMOND Cecil F. Robbins died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at his home in Raymond. He was 88.
Born in Rankin County, Mr. Robbins lived in Edwards for 80 years before moving to Raymond four years ago. He was a former president of the Bank of Edwards and the Mississippi Bankers Association. He was a member of First Methodist Church in Clinton.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Evelyn Williams Robbins.
Survivors include wife, Mary Bankston Robbins of Raymond; three daughters, Brannan Robbins Galyean of Memphis, Marianna Robbins Field of Vicksburg and Cecily Robbins McNair of Ridgeland; three stepsons, Bobby Bankston, Eddie Bankston and Larry Bankston, all of Raymond; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at High Street Chapel of Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home of Jackson. Burial will follow at Edwards Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 until the service today at the funeral home.
