Nell Ricketts Penix

Nell Ricketts Penix died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 105.
Born in Clifton, Tenn., Mrs. Penix was the daughter of Dr. James A. and Mary Jane Hughes Ricketts. She lived in Tuckerman, Ark., before moving to Vicksburg in 1985.
She attended the Methodist Conference Female Institute in Jackson, Tenn., and the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Mrs. Penix was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Penix.
She is survived by a niece, Mary Frances Ricketts Moore of Cary, and other relatives.
A prayer service will be at 3 p.m. today at Riles Funeral Home with the Rev. Clifton McInnis officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Gracelawn Cemetery in Tuckerman.
Visitation will be from 2:30 today until the service.
Troy Ellis Tillotson
Services for Troy Ellis Tillotson will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Bovina Baptist Church with Dr. Chip Starnes, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Acres Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 until 7 tonight at Riles Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service at the church.
Troy died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 13.
He was a lifelong resident of Vicksburg and an eighth-grader at Porters Chapel Academy. A hunter, he was active in the Moto Cross 0-65 CC class and was the State of Mississippi Winter State Series Champion in 1999.
He was a member of Bovina Baptist Church, where he was involved in the youth ministry.
Survivors include his parents, Sidney Ellis Jr. and Lisa Diann Crew Tillotson; a brother, Derek Tillotson; his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney E. Tillotson Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Troy E. Crew of Atlanta, Texas, and Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Lutrick of Star; a great-grandmother, Eunice Crew of Atlanta; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Stuart Ellerbe, Lee Bruce, Jimmy Bruce, Larry Barnard, Brian Parker, Bill Tomlinson, Mike Goff, Fred Stuart, Mike Coomes and Hunter Vinzant.
Honorary pallbearers will be the youth ministry of Bovina Baptist Church.

Aline W. Goodwin
LAKE PROVIDENCE Aline W. Goodwin died Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at her home in Lake Providence. She was 90.
She was preceded in death by husbands, Eugene Temple and Olin Goodwin; a son, Billy Temple; her parents, Marshall and Ada Eudora Wroten; a brother, Joseph Wroten; and a grandson, Robert Walters.
Survivors include a daughter, Peggy Walters of Lake Providence; three brothers, Thomas Wroten of Beeville, Texas, Marshall Wiley Wroten of Baton Rouge and Emmett Wroten of New Orleans; a sister, Lorene Price of Shreveport; three grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First Baptist Church in Haynesville, La., with the Rev. Shelby Cowling officiating. Burial will follow at Old Town Cemetery under the direction of Cox Funeral Home of Lake Providence.
Pallbearers will be Randy Walters, Nelson Goss, Todd Walters, Billy Ray Wroten, Chester Wroten and Jimmy Ford White.
Bessie Weathers
PORT GIBSON Bessie Weathers died Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 93.
Ms. Weathers was a resident of Port Gibson.
Survivors include a sister, Jessie Lucas of Battle Creek, Mich.; a niece, Claudette Richmond of Battle Creek; a nephew, George Wyatt of Washington, D.C.; a godson, Solomon Wilson of Port Gibson; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Magnolia M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. James Dorsey officiating. Burial will follow at Mercy Seat M.B. Church Cemetery under the direction of Thompson Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 1 until 6 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home chapel and from 10 a.m. until the service Friday at the church.
