Lauderdale seeking fifth term as county’s District 4 supervisor

The Warren County Board of Supervisors’ longest-serving member filed qualifying papers Tuesday to run for a fifth term from District 4.

Bill Lauderdale, 55, on the board since 1984, will face at least two first-time office-seekers in the Nov. 4 general election. Sixth-grade teacher Carl Flanders, 33, and business owner Reginald King, 56, had already filed to run for the post.

All three have filed as independent candidates, meaning their names will not appear on Aug. 5 party primary ballots.

Lauderdale, who has served several terms as board president, said he treats his supervisor’s position as a full-time job.

Elections this year will include 20 county and county-district offices and all statewide, legislative and many state-district offices. The filing deadline for candidates for all elections is March 1.

Voter-registration deadlines for party primaries and the general election are July 5 and Oct. 5 respectively.
