Roberta Robinson Harris

Services for Roberta Robinson Harris will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Harris died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 82.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Harris retired from Vicksburg Seed Store after 20 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo James Harris Sr.
Survivors include a son, Leo James Harris Jr. of Vicksburg; six stepsons, Robert Butler, Terrell Butler, Leon Harris and John Harris, all of Vicksburg, Harry James King of Los Angeles and Timothy King of Sacramento, Calif.; three stepdaughters, Leola Harris, Patricia Thomas and Alma Butler Amos, all of Vicksburg; two grandchildren; and other relatives.
Alberta Moore
Services for Alberta “Bert” Moore will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert L. Miller Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 until 7 tonight at the funeral home.
Mrs. Moore died Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003, at Vicksburg Trace Haven. She was 74.
A resident of Vicksburg, she was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Moore; her mother, Carrie Holmes; and a sister, Ida Fonville Smith.
Survivors include three sons, Alonzo Green and Leonard H. Moore, both of Vicksburg and James Earl Moore of Indianapolis, Ind.; three daughters, Catherine Green of Vicksburg, Carolyn Green Moore Banks of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Connie Marie Smith of Indianapolis; her father, Monroe Fonville Sr. of Mound Bayou, Miss.; three brothers, William Fonville, Monroe Fonville Jr. and Anthony Fonville, all of Mound Bayou; four sisters, Helen Singleton of Saginaw, Mich., and Jeannette Fonville, Berlin Thomas and Mary Fonville, of Mound Bayou; 26 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
William C. Rogers
NEWELLTON William C. Rogers died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Riverland Medical Center in Ferriday, La. He was 80.
Born in Wisconsin, Mr. Rogers was a resident of Newellton. He was a veteran of World War II and a retired mechanical engineer.
Survivors include his wife, Valerie Madden Rogers of Newellton; and a stepdaughter, Stephanie B. Sisemore of Ruston, La.
Services were at 10 a.m. today at Legion Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. J. Fulton McGraw officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home.
Mary Parker Walls
Mary Parker Walls died Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville. She was 47.
Mrs. Walls is survived by a daughter, Karen Edwards of Delta City; nine sisters, Sandra Parker Jones, Shelia Green Allen and Pamelia Williams, all of Pine Bluff, Ark., Lillian Latham, Irene Latham, Etta Jean Williams, Beverly Nester Calvin and Lisa Williams, all of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jacqueline Sweat of Orlando, Fla.; nine brothers, Lawrence Green of Glen Allan, Leroy Parker Jr., Douglas Green, Charles Bradley, Paul Green and LaRon King Parker, all of Pine Bluff, Henry Edwards of Phoenix and Melvin Williams and Thelmon Williams, both of Eloy, Ariz.; three grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and other relatives, including Jessie Parker of Pine Bluff, Mary Lou Hopes of Greenville, Veronica White and Gary Wright of Pine Bluff.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Valley M.B. Church in Vickland, Miss. Burial will follow at Vickland Cemetery.
Walker Funeral Home of Rolling Fork has charge of arrangements.
Philip D. Wells
Philip D. Wells died Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, at his home. He was 80.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Wells was born in Mount Vernon, Maine, to Flavious and Doris Kimball Wells. He was an Army Air Corps veteran serving in the European Theater in World War II where he completed 50 combat missions as a radio operator on a B-24.
Mr. Wells graduated from the University of Maine with a civil engineering degree. He worked in South America for Sinclair Oil Company before moving to Vicksburg. He retired from the Corps of Engineers in 1995.
Survivors include two brothers, Richard V. Wells of Auburn, Maine and Raymond E. Wells of Charleston, Ark.; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Dillingham & Son Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Dodi Knights officiating. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park in Auburn, Maine.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the service Saturday at the funeral home.
Glenwood Funeral Home has charge of local arrangements.
Memorials may be made to a local hospice.
