Marie Benard Allen
Marie “Ree” Benard Allen died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 83.
A resident of Vicksburg, Mrs. Allen was a homemaker. She was a member of Travelers Rest Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim Tolliver and Lenora Benard Evans; and a brother, Henry Tolliver.
Survivors include her husband, Paul T. Allen of Vicksburg; a stepson, Lee Paul Allen of Franklin, La.; a stepdaughter, Gloria Harvey of Tocoma, Washington; and other relatives and friends including, Laeverne Brent and the Benard, Sanders, Young, Smith and Allen families of Vicksburg.
W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Virginia Elizabeth
Treadway Campbell
JACKSON Virginia Elizabeth Treadway Campbell died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at Central Mississippi Medical Center. She was 52.
Mrs. Campbell was born in Jackson and later moved to Gautier. She graduated from Pascagoula High School.
She served as a copy editor for the Focus section of the Clarion-Ledger in Jackson and as a social worker at Magnolia Nursing Home.
Mrs. Campbell spent her free time with art, photography, volunteering at her daughter’s school and Girl Scouts. She was a member of Wells United Methodist Church where she served as education director and disciple Bible study teacher and treasurer.
Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by her father, Charles Benjamin Treadway and one sister, Charlotte Catherine Brent.
Survivors include her husband, former Vicksburg resident Greg Campbell of Jackson; one daughter, Catherine Elizabeth of Jackson; her mother, Claudia Treadway of Jackson; one sister, Marcia Husband Rich of Cary, N.C.; father- and mother-in-law, John and Lynn Campbell of Vicksburg, brothers-in-law, Brad Campbell of Vicksburg, and Wilson Brent of Cary, N.C.; and nephews and great-nephews.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. today at the church. Services will follow. Burial will be at Lakewood Memorial Park.

Henry Coleman
FAYETTE Henry Coleman died Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2003, at Jefferson County Nursing Home. He was 78.
Mr. Coleman completed eighth grade at Pine Grove School in Fayette, and was a retired self-employed logger. He was a member of St. Mark M.B. Church in Bluehill.
He was an avid reader, story-teller and banjo and harmonica player.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Mae Coleman; one daughter, Lillie Mae Coleman; his parents, Brad and Vinne Hall Coleman; one brother, James Coleman; four sisters, Mary Hill, Sarah Hill, Doretha Hill and Estella Hill.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Gibson of Terry and Claudette Hunter of Fayette; two sons, J.T. Trevillion of Terry and James Trevillion of Vicksburg; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Robbie Coleman, Michael Smith, Allen Ellis, Gregory Jackson, William Carter and Kennedy Hill. Honorary pallbearers are J.T. Trevillion, James Conway Sr., James Trevillion, Dalton Hill, Tommie Hill Sr. and Clarence Hill Sr.
Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. today at St. Mark M.B. Church. Services will follow. Pastor Anthony Berry will officiate. Burial will be at Little Zion Christian Cemetery.
Azeline Watson Jackson
Azeline Watson Jackson died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. She was 84.
Ms. Jackson was born in Delta, La., and was a longtime resident of Vicksburg. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where she is a member of the choir.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Johnnie Watson and Mary Ellen Johnson; six sisters and three brothers.
Survivors include one son, Louis M. Jackson of Manassas, Va., three brothers, Joseph Garner and Harvey Garner, both of Chicago, Ill., and Willie Garner of Leesville, La.; one sister, Ida Shields of Chicago; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives.
Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
Adolph Wagner Jr.
CHURCH HILL, Miss. Adolph Wagner Jr. died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at his home. He was 74.
Mr. Wagner was a resident of Church Hill, Miss., where he served as postmaster. He was owner and operator of Wagner General Merchandise in Church Hill until its closure in 1997.
He was an Army veteran serving during World War II and served on the Selective Service System Board and the Jefferson County Welfare Board. He was senior warden at Christ Church Episcopal for over thirty years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Octavia Brister Wagner and Adolph Wagner Sr.
Survivors include his wife, Lugenia Little Wagner; a daughter, Lauren Stacy Wagner Burns of Delhi; a son, Adolph Wagner III of Church Hill; a sister, Virginia Wagner Patterson of Church Hill; four grandchildren; and other relatives.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Christ Church Episcopal in Church Hill with the Rev. Zabron A. Davis II officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home of Natchez.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Lewis Blackwell Jr., Hugh Denton, Arch Guedon, Emile Guedon, Paul C. Little Jr. and Alex Womack.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lewis Blackwell III, the Rev. Limuel Parks, Kelly G. Robertson and Dr. Jack Rodriguez.

William B. Windham
William B. Windham died Thursday, Feb. 6, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 89.
Born in Bassfield, Miss. to Murdock and Nettie Jane Walters Windham, Mr. Windham moved to Vicksburg in 1939. He was owner and operator of Windham’s Barber Shop for 40 years and retired from Anderson Tully Lumber Company. He was an Army veteran serving in World War II in Germany and Normandy and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Nell Windham; a son, Ronald Windham; four brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include three sons, Fred Windham of Monroe, La., Phillip Windham of Baton Rouge, La., and Michael Windham of Vicksburg; a daughter, Judy Hasty of Vicksburg; three sisters, Janie Douglas and Willie Magee, both of Sumrall, and Myra Hasslebrock of San Fransisco, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Glenwood Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until the service at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Don Windham, Billy McMullen, Joey Hasty, Johnathan Windham, Dusty Windham and Jason Windham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Monk, Mike McKissack, Michael Lowery, Elvin Westcott, Mike Evans and Ronald Scott Windham.
