Vincent J. Russo

Vincent J. Russo died Thursday, Feb. 13, 2003, at River Region Medical Center. He was 78.
A native and lifelong resident of Vicksburg, Mr. Russo was the son of the late Vincent J. and Mary Catherine Dirago Russo. He was a graduate of St. Aloysius High School and received a degree in accounting from Loyola University.
He was an Army veteran serving in World War II and a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. He retired from Waterways Experiment Station in 1995 with more than 26 years of service in the Audit Office. He was a member of the American Legion.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marietta Muffuletto and Polly Morrison.
Survivors include four nieces, Linda Muffuletto and Kay Middleton, both of Madison, Marilyn Gunnell of McComb, and Lorraine Smithhart of Vicksburg; and two nephews, Vincent Muffuletto Jr. of Vicksburg and Ron Muffuletto of Pearl.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Patrick Farrell officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 until 7 tonight at Fisher Funeral Home. A wake will follow at 7.
Pallbearers will be B.J. Smithhart, Ben Smithhart, Beau Muffuletto, Michael Muffuletto, Paul Muffuletto, Scott Gunnell, Steven Gunnell, Greg Muffuletto and Tony Muffuletto.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Muffuletto, Nick Muffuletto, Gene Melsheimer Sr., Bill Waltman, Joe Cuevas, John George, Willie Humes and Susan Gussio.

Mary Alice Hill Tenner
FAYETTE Mary Alice Hill Tenner died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at University Medical Center in Jackson. She was 69.
A resident of Fayette, Mrs. Hill was a retired laborer from Grand Gulf Nuclear Plant. She was a member of the choir at Mercy Seat Baptist Church and served on the Mother Board. She was a member of the Family Connection Mass Choir and a former member of the Heroines of Jericho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Turner Jr.; her parents, James and Maggie Hill; a sister, Rosie Fleming; and a brother, James Hill Jr.
Survivors include five sons, Perry Charles Tenner, Terry Tenner, Curtis Wayne Tenner and Frank James Tenner, all of Fayette and Darryle Tenner of Dallas, Texas; six daughters, Alma Sewell, Mary Sewell and Belvia Stewart, all of Natchez, Martha Tenner and Hattie Tenner, both of Fayette, and Linda Tenner of Las Vegas; an adopted son, Artavis Tenner of Fayette; three brothers, Emerson Hill and Henry Hill of Las Vegas and Edward Hill of Los Angeles; seven sisters, Rebecca Bertla of Natchez, Lillian Saward of Chicago, Thelma Hoy and Janie Marshall of Las Vegas and Hazel Hill, Rheta Ratliff and Ruby Smith, all of Los Angeles; 25 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Fayette with the Rev. Willie Smoot officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in Cannonsburg, Miss., under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Fayette.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
George Stanley White
OAK GROVE George Stanley “Buck” White died Wednesday, Feb. 12, 2003, at West Carroll Memorial Hospital in Oak Grove. He was 72.
A resident of Oak Grove, Mr. White was a veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was retired from A.N.R. Pipeline and was a member of Hill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd D. White and Alice B. White; and a brother, Darrell White.
Survivors include his wife, Mary E. “Tina” White; two sons, Ernest Floyd White and Stanley Glynn White; three brothers, Frank White, Larry White and Phil White; three sisters, Cora Vining, Sue Owens and Paula Wilkinson; four grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; and other relatives.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Cox Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Leslie Yates officiating. Burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be retirees and employees of A.N.R. Pipeline.
